Remove extension table/accessory box by gentle pulling it away from machine. You are left with just the free arm. In the back of the free arm, lower left corner, you will fine the feed dog lever. Push the leaver to the right to lower the feed dog.Instructions for lowering and raising the feed dog are on page 48 of your owner's manual. Good luck!

SOURCE: Feed dogs do not come back up after lowering

Are you talking about the feed dogs or the presser foot. Either way, if you moved a lever to lower them, there is probably a screw that either fell out or has become loose that holds the linkage to the lever.

Pull out the removable table and you will see the drop down feed dogs switch lever behind the back of the machine. Move that lever to the left or right to have feed dogs go back to normal sewing mode OR for embroidery mode.

SOURCE: How to Drop Feed Dogs on Sewing Machine...

On many machines you tilt the machine back on its hinges to see the underside and there you will find a thumbscrew to lower the feed dogs...you also need to be sure that your machine is capable of having its feed dogs lowered...not all machines can do this!

SOURCE: Feed dog lever not working on my Kenmore 385 24 stitch machine

I surfed around this site for various suggestions, finally took the bottom plate off and cleaned and oiled all the parts along that rod that goes right across (think it's a drive bar that rotates). Ran the machine without thread in for a few minutes to let the oil soak in. Machine now works fine.

Elna 5200Q The material is bunching up in front of the feed dogs

Are the feed dogs actually raising, moving, and dropping (raise the presser foot and hand-rotate the handwheel and watch how the feed dogs are moving)? If not, check to see if the stitch length is set well above the zero (which means it sews in place)? Perhaps the presser foot pressure is set too firm and is preventing the fabric from moving under the foot.

How Do I lower the feed teeth on my Elna 3003 machine for free sewing. Thank you.

This may help:

However, some machines do not have the ability to drop the feed dogs but instead has a plate that attaches to the machine to cover the feed dogs. Your manual is probably the best source for information.

How do I drop feed dogs on jem silver 662?

Here's a manual:

Instruction Manual Janome Jem Silver 662

The following is for a 660, but it doesn't mention anything about darning or free motion quilting:

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&ved=0ahUKEwih_NGBzpjRAhXKh1QKHbKIAvwQFggoMAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fjanome.com%2Fsiteassets%2Fsupport%2Fmanuals%2Fcompact-models%2Finst-book-jem-gold-660.pdf&usg=AFQjCNEwCPZs5n8s4wdgIHMGHbN-GvDe-w

You can also contact a Janome dealer. If the machine does not drop the feed dogs, there should be a special plate accessory to cover them in order to do darning or free motion quilting.

Perhaps this is the accessory you need:

I think you need a needle plate cover, also called a darning plate. It fits over the needle plate effectively dropping the feed dogs.

Elna Envision 8007 feed dogs dropped and can't get get them to go back up ...the switch doesn't make a difference. Had this problem before and thought it was fixed. This is the first time I needed to...

Have you actually starting stitching a seam after sliding the feed dog control back to normal position?

In most cases, the feed dogs don't magically pop up until the machine has moved through a stitch sequence.

Put a piece of fabric under the pressure foot, lower the pressure foot, then turn the flywheel towards you two or three turns or use the needle up, needle down control button to make a couple of stitches - this should get them back.

How do I raise the feed dog in my Elna 5000, a machine I recently inherited.

I have a 7000 manual and from memory the 7000 was released a year after the 5000 and very similar. Look at top middle image below, for feed dog release at back of the sewing free arm.
tally_girl_19.jpg At the back of the sewing free arm (remove the accessories tray) is a slide to lower the feed dogs, there is a little stub that you need to push to release it. Manual says "Drop the feed by pushing the slide (a), which is at the rear of the elevated sewing surface, to the left. To raise the feed dog again, press down the stud (b) and the feed dog will rise when you start sewing." You might need to wind the flywheel towards you half a turn to visually check they have come up.

How do I drop the bottom feed so I can machine quilt?

I do not know with model information.

There could be a switch/lever at the bottom/front of the machine.

It could be you cannot lower the feed dogs and this model uses a feed dog cover.

Refer to the manual and if this is not addressed, try setting the stitch length to zero to stop the movement of the feed dogs and tape an index card (hole for needle) over the feed dogs.
