SOURCE: Our panel will not

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven
here.

If you have any trouble getting the grille off once the screws are removed, slide the hood vent grille to the left about 1/4", then then pull it forward. On some models there are L-shaped clips that fit into a slot to hold bottom of the vent.

Otherwise, there may be some grease of corrosion making it stick. Check the exploded views and maybe tap upward on it.

SOURCE: How to replace the door

There is a inner door trim on the inside of the microwave door that can come off to expose the screws for the handle. This trim is held in place by clips built into the trim.--------- Pry out the soft plastic door seal. Use something like a butter knife, and just work in the gap between the plastic door frame and the softer door seal. Go slow and easy, a little at a time, and the whole thing will come out pretty easily. (And it will press right back in when you're finished.)

You will also get access to screws that will allow you pull out the door glass and give it a good washing.

GE space maker microwave jvm1350bw002. Handle broke off at the bottom. I am looking to find a replacement hand determine if I can replace and if so are there instructions on removal of the handle?

On all of the JVM series I have seen you have to open the door and look on the inside perimeter of the door. There is a sort of thin, sort of Plastic, choke seal that goes around the inside of the whole door. Toward the outer edge. You have to take a butter knife or a smallish screw driver to lightly pop that part out of the slot it is popped into. The screws for the door handle are under that choke seal. Work around the whole door until you get that part out, Get one piece to lift up then keep working artound the whole door until it comes out. Then set it aside somewhere safe as to not let it drop or fall to the floor as it can break. To reinstall the choke you just align it to the slot where it came from and then start pushing it back into place. It has little hooks on the edges and it will snap back into place

I have a GE Profile Spacemaker XL Sensor Mod # JVM 1350AW 02 Microwave oven. How do I replace the door assembly? Is there a danger of elecrical shock involved?

You're usually better off just replacing the bad parts instead of the whole door.

If so, you can separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) then you can replace separate parts.

You can't remove the handle without doing this.

You can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

You can find handy exploded views and order parts by model number here.

You have to remove the door handle screw(s) and the door handle, then look for subtle clips that may be holding the outer door screen in place.

Some models have two screws holding the door handle, but some have only one. In that case, remove the screw, then you either lift or rotate the handle to free it.

If you still need help, please write me at prototech@usa.net for the service manual link (no charge, no obligation).

On the GE JVM 1650 Spacemaker microwave, how do I replace the door?

If replacing the entire door, all that is required is to open the door all the way open and lift straight up on the hinge side of the door. The door will lift off the hinge pins. You may have to remove the upper grill cover (if equipped) on some models for better access. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Handle replacement on GE JVM 1860SD

To access the door handle mounting screws on MOST microwave ovens, you have to remove the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. You can use a small screwdriver to carefully pry the plastic up and work your way slowly around the perimiter of the glass. Most microwave ovens also have grooves in the panel that you can insert the screwdriver into. Use care not to pry against the glass. The glass is tempered and also has an RF shield that prevents harmful microwaves from potentially harming the consumer. If you break the glass, you will need to purchase a new door.

The door handle screws are located behind the inner panel. Simply remove the broken handle and install the new one. Re-insert the inner door panel carefully and gradually work your way around the perimeter of the door glass and make sure it snaps back into place.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Need to dissemble microwave oven door GE model JVM 1631 BB 002 to remove spider.

Remove the inner strip around the door called the choke. If there are no screws visable it just snaps in place and does break if you are not very careful. This will give you access to the screws holding the outer frame piece and handle on. keep in mind, any repairs done to the door will necessitate a RFe leakage inspection. Boil some water on the front burners and cook the little guy and leave the door alone.

How do you replace the handle on a ge Space Master Oven JVM 1490 BD 003

To replace MOST microwave oven door handles all you have to do is open the door and remove the inner plastic panel around the glass. This is accomplished by taking a small screwdriver and carefully inserting it along the perimeter to pop it loose (there are usually some grooves you can insert the screwdriver in).

NOTE: DO NOT pry against the glass. The glass is tempered and has an RF shield that protects the consumer from the microwaves being generated by the magnetron. Breaking it, requires a new door replacement.

With the panel removed, you will be able to access the screws that hold the handle in place. Once the new handle is in place, carefully reinsert the inner plastic panel by snapping it back in place all the way around the perimeter of the door glass.

If you have questions, or if your door is configured differently, please let me know. If you have the ability to send photos, that helps too. A model number may also be useful so I can identify how your door is assembled. I hope this helps you,
