Washer Knob malfunction

I have a similar problem, and I think having sears to come out and look at it for 190 bucks is ridiculous. The selection knob on my washer does not work, It turns, but the actual soft cirlce under it does not turn to provide selections. You have to actually push your fingers on eitehr side of the circle and manually push down in order for it to move to make a selection. What is a solution to fix this problem

Your control knob has malfunctioned. You need to find out where you can get the part. You will or should have several plugs on the back of the board. Make sure you have it unplugged. If not you will get a shock of your life. The cost will depend if you have a appliance store you can order it from or if you go through Sears. It should just take a phillips screwdriver and a small adjustable wrench to take the cover and the board apart. Make sure you pay attention to how it is lay-ed out before you just remove it.

I have a Kenmore washer #11026002010. I am having problems with the water overfilling and not progressing to the next cycle. Would you have info on the fault codes and also the recalibration procedure

Does it sound like it wants to spin? If so more than likely the motor coupler broke causing your washer to not spin. It is one of the most common parts that fail.

Anyhow Sears is the best bet for your answers they even list all the steps needed to trouble shoot.

Could be one of two things. The knob or the timer. Both knobs and the timer through sears parts direct are under 100 probably with shipping. If the knob that you pull out and push in does not feel sloppy when you turn it then i would guess timer is faulty.

How to remove the washer cycle selection/start-stop knob on a Whilpool Heavy Duty Thin Twin stacked washer dryer

I believe the selector knob on a Whirpool just has to be turned counter-clockwise with the selector pushed in. It will spin off the shaft and then the outer indicator dial will pull off. The shaft also has a keyed slot that will only allow the dial to be removed and installed one way, so there should be no question as to how it goes back on.

Was there a reason as to why you are removing the washer selector knob? If this is a simple matter of replacing a broken water temperature selector, you shouldn't have to remove any of the control knobs to gain access to the selector. The entire front panel comes off by removing the screws holding it in place. That way you can access the broken selector from behind the front panel much easier. Just remove the panel right above the washer top (under the dryer) and it should expose the front panel mounting screws. Remove these screws and the front panel comes off. Just make sure the unit is unplugged before you begin. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Stops midcycle, restarts when you lean on it

If the problem lies with the contacts, then the knob is not the direct problem, it would be the selector switch behind the knob. Although I don't understand how leaning on the to makes the machine work. Are you sure it is not the switch that indicates when the lid is closed? Either way, Yes!! you can simply just change the switch over.
