Toshiba Motherboard FHZSY1

I have a toshiba A15-S157 Laptop. It starts up and then shuts down. I can hit the windows key located on the left of the spacebar. and it will beep and continue until I manualy turn it off. I have hit the F1 key to get into the bios. It will allow me in the bios for about 1-1.5 minutes then shuts down. I have replaced the motherboard, cpu, rams,Battery, and the dvd/cd player. I still have the same problem. I've tried just about everything to repair this laptop. I even bought a toshiba recovery disk and this didn't help. I have heard it's an overheating problem, bios, or that there's a jumper in the motherboard that I didn't know about. the jumper if there is one I haven't tried. Now you girls and guys are the experts. Any suggestions besides looking for the nearest trash can. I've invested alot of money and I guess it's my frustration that keeps me intrigued with finding and spending money to fix this computer..Hope you all can help..Thanks. Michael

Most likely is the power section (if you use a transformer). Try to run the laptop w/o the battery. if it still have the same porblem, then you need to either go to the repair shop order a replacement power supply (may not available as an standalone unit, most of thime it is buildin to the motherboard.).
or go to ebay get a whole motherboard.

My toshiba laptop wouldn't work well when connected to power source but will function well am using the battery

Laptop shuts off when AC adapter plugged in
Problem description: The laptop shuts off when AC power adapter is plugged in. The laptop works fine on battery power but as soon as you connect it to AC adapter, the laptop turns off.
Possible cause: 1. Power adapter failure.
2. Motherboard failure.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution: First of all, test the power adpater. Make sure the apdapter outputs correct voltage. It's possible that the outup voltage is not correct and the laptop shuts down to prevent the damge. Test your laptop with anohter known good power adapter.
If the problem still exists, even after replacing the adapter, most likley it's the motherboard failure. Replace the motherboard

Toshiba satellite pro sp2100 -> Mod No: ps210E

TOSHIBA
Remove Laptop Battery Remove Memory Cover Spread spring clips to outside and pull out RAM memory Remove clear vinyl label opposite RAM memory slots In the upper left corner you will see JOPEN1 with a white silkscreen square Inside the square you will see what looks like the letter T over a U. Using a metal paper clip short the U to the Silver 1/4"post connecting the motherboard to the laptop case and hold it for 25 -30 seconds. Place back your RAM memory, put in the laptop battery and test start laptop. you should see a selection of F1 or F2 for setup. Using the F2 gets you into the Bios menu where you reset the time and date. Then Tab over to the SECURITY setting tab and change your passwords. Then hit F10 key

My toshiba satellite a100 shuts down after 15 minutes. my battery is not working anymore and is in bad condition... even if i plug it with its charger it shuts down after a while.

Hello

It looks like your laptop overheats too much, is it full of dust?

do you still have warrenty left?if so you can just take it back to toshiba and they'll fix it or give you a new one or if the warrenty is expired you can open it up ,clean the dust in it, and apply some new thermal conpound.

If the laptop still shuts down then the problem is that of a failing motherboard,if you still have warranty good for you but if you dont then i suggest you get a new motherboard for your laptop.

Laptop won't run on ac power and keeps shutting down

Check that the AC power works, go to a repair shop and test a different one or have voltages checked with a multimeter.

If the AC adapter is fine, then it is usuall because AC socket solder joints on laptop are broken. In this case , it is a delicate repair, and must be done by an expert repairman.
