Check all the cable connections at the back, if you are using an external receiver , then check the Video cable, eventually try a replacement one.
Try leaving the TV set unplugged for a couple of hours, this will drain power completely and, if there is no real fault , this can fix the problem.
If that does not fix it, then thereis an internal fault.
Common faults that cause audio but no picture concern, digital board, controller board, sustain boards, Plasma screen ribbon cables, and plasma display.
Call the number listed on the owner manual to get assistance.
If the warraty is expired no longer than three years, ask the price fod r a warranty extension calling same number in the manual.

Hi, Usually any "Pops" are an Electrolytic Capacitor "blowing up" quite literally, or "Gassing" as it is called. This happens due to some sort of power problem. Capacitors hate AC Voltage and Current, and Heat and Over Voltage. All of which, I have no doubt it was exposed to before it went "Pop" This is only a symptom of a far greater problem, to come, no doubt, soon, the rest of the set will fail too. Please DO NOT USE. this set any more, you risk fire or explosion or both. If you MUST use it at least unplug at bed time. Theses days home repair except for the most rudimentary problem is not feasible, setting aside the safety aspect. In my professional opinion, I would recommend, that you get a "Quote" for repair from a Philips Authorised Service Agent This is very important, that you contact a Philips head office and ask for a referral. This way at least you can make a decision to repair or replace.
