Can you turn off or change the beeps on cuisinart toaster oven broiler 40?

Great product; five beeps when toasting is done are ear-piercing. can this be disabled, lowered in volume, or lowered in pitch?

SOURCE: Cuisinart toaster oven modele no.TOB-30BWC, serial no.50421.

I have the same problem. It is due to a bad relay switch in the toaster. I have found that for now, my toaster will work if I leave it on the "TOAST" function rather than "OFF" overnight. I think it lets some current or voltage hit the relay and encourages it to work.

I will try to replace the relay and post a "how to" on that when it is done.

May all of your toasting be succesful.

The contacts for these toasters fail. The plasic cam that depresses the contacts also can melt. The design is poor and no replacement parts are available. When selecting a setting, if the selection is not exactly perfect, the contacts arc and eventually fail. Unless cuisinart changes the selection cam to a solid state or relay, this failure will continue to happen during normal use. If your unit works properly do not switch the function setting while heating, this will cause the contacts to arc and erode the contact surface. This posting is applicable to the TOB-30BC, TOB-30BCC and probably all TOB-30XXX models.

SOURCE: broiler element

Its an on or off thing. No way to control the flow of electricity.

The elements are bigger than necessary to heat the unit quickly, the problem you have is a bad thing with food that burns easily but a good thing that makes these units come up to temp so quickly after turning on.

Unfortunately the only thing you can do is put more space between the element and your food or use aluminum foil (not suggested, its too close to the burners).

Eventually the contacks will fail (unless you are one of the lucky ones).

Good Luck

Hello, Joy -

Since your toaster oven broiler is new, after you check the warranty information in the user manual, contact the Cuisinart company and find out what you need to do to obtain a new replacement.

Note: You may need to provide a copy of the sales receipt for the toaster oven broiler in order to obtain a replacement.

Why does Cuisinart TOB-40 produce steam and condensation on the glass door when toasting?

The bake/toast compartment is almost air-tight, creating an adequate seal to produce steam/moisture when the heat is applied to the water content of the food placed inside.

Cuisinart Toaster Oven Broiler Not working properly

This is not a defect - it is just how the unit operates. You can set it to Broil, and the top element should not come on. Make sure the wire rack is turned upside down so that it curves inward and try one more time.
