Factory system wont play with aftermarket head unit

It is probably set up where you cannot have a aftermarket radio or you might need a new radio wire kit to fit to the factory.

Radio lock, how do i unlock it what is the code

I am a Master Installer and have install thousands of amplifiers for 12 yrs and I have never heard of an amp having a radio lock? If your amp dont work just look to see if your fuses are not blown.

No amp that I've heard have a circuit breaker that you can reset. Unless its in the hood of the car. Some people install these cause they dont want to keep buying fuses everytime the amp current is to much but they are usually big in size and not practical to make in a amp. Just look at your circuit breakers in your house they are huge boxes.

If amp is already connected in your car. Go to the hood and find the large fuse connected to your battery. You will see an aftermarket 4guage to 8 guage thick power cable usually blue or red. Inline with it is a tubular fuse holder or a big rectangular fuse holder. Replace the fuse inside it no matter if it still looks good because sometimes internally the connection got bad you can test it with a multi-meter for continuaty. The amp should work again.

Sorry for the long answer but your question has very little info. You have a pic of a amp and your talking about a radio lock. Its possible your having problems with a radio code? specify the radio aftermarket or model & yr of the car please next time.

I have a 2007 chevy silverado classic an i dont

Buy the aftermarket harness for it. Within the harness there should be a wire that says power ant or remote. Splice a wire to that and run it back to your remote turn on.

Hooking up amplifier to stock radio in Lexus ls400 1991

Hi Robin, I think I may be able to help. The instructions are referring to an aftermarket stereo and not the factory one. Most aftermarket stereos have a blue wire that runs either the power antenna or an accessory that turns on with the radio(amp, eq, power crossover, ect.) As far as the RCA cables, once again, most aftermarket stereos have RCA outputs for an amplifier. Factory ones don't.You can go to Wal-Mart or ABC warehouse and buy a wire harness just for this particular application and then all you do is plug the harness into the factory harness, everything is all pre-wired so there is no guesswork involved and no mistakes.

My cd changer, radio and amp are inter connected.the owners manuel say that if all are not hooked up system will not work. i install an after market radio but cant get the factory amp to come on

Hello moemoneymood,

Since you did not specify the make and model of your aftermarket radio, I cannot pinpoint specific connection problems. Most aftermarket receivers have a "remote turn-on" lead, probably blue, but sometimes blue/white, usually terminated with a spade lug. In addition to power and ground, the amp requires this lead to be connected in order to properly operate.

Start by checking the wiring from the old receiver wiring harness and see which wires and what colors went to the stock amp. Then connect the corresponding wires from your new receiver to the amp. Some OEM receiver/amp systems had power and ground taken from the same harness, so you may need to run those separately.

Im trying to install aftermarket stereo

it is located behind the stock stereo up in the back farther and it look like a black box. The wires depend on the radio but if its a cd player go to like walmart and look at the radio wire harnesses and look for the one that'll work for your vehicle

Amp

Its a must to change your radio to an aftermarket radio because its safer and it has an rem wire that for the amp and subwoofer, if you run it a factory radio then the sound if any will be the voice and everything so it will sound distorted and crappy with abnormal bass
