SOURCE: more watts needed

The TX-SR601 does not have pre-amp outputs. Unless you know how to splice it at the circuit level and install your own RCA plugs, I don't think you can accomplish this task with the 601.

SOURCE: I want to find out

I have the same receiver. When I asked the same question at a stereo store about 12 years ago, I was told it was listed at 55 watts/channel.

SOURCE: looking for the specs on

I own one, the back of the amp says 550 Watts. I doubt it's pushing that much, but the amp is very clean sounding, which would tell the tale of signal to noise ratio. It's a very nice amp for the day, much better than what most people think. It's built very well, and although it's design to work with the CA model series, it can in fact be used in many ways with other gear. I actually use mine for studio work, and it's marvelous!

"im no proffetional at this". Really?

If you looked at the manuals for either product you would NEVER find a recommendation to use one amplifier's speaker input to drive the LINE LEVEL (very small) input on another amplifier. Speaker outputs are for driving speakers or amplifiers designed to accept speaker-level input (like some self-powered subwoofers). In no case is the power of the originating amplifer BOOSTING the power of the driven one.

You should do some reading on how amplifiers work before you blow something up and come asking for advice on how to resolve it.

Having trouble under standing rms with speakers. Some speakers rms is per speaker and other are for both speakers.I am looking for soundstream speakers that would be 150 rms per speaker. Thanks

rms is a method of measuring power (wattage) delivered from an amp to a speaker. In almost every case, wattage capacity of speakers is quoted PER SPEAKER. Likewise wattage output is quoted per amp output channel. Assuming a you plan on a single speaker on each output channel of your amp, you should be in good shape if your speaker wattage capacity equals or exceeds your amp's output rating. I've never seen speakers rated as wattage per pair.

(rms is the dominant way of measuring average watts of an ac sine wave signal)

Hi,I have two 250w speakers at 8ohms ,could someone tell me if I need to get a amp with higher watts than the speakers?k

Speakers are rated either at RMS (root mean square) average power or Peak Power. An RMS of about 125 watt is equivalent to 250 watt peak. To match the radio and speakers they both need to be consistent. Also do not be confused with total radio power out vs per channel.

So if the speakers are 250 watt peak power then a radio with 125 watt per channel or 250 watt peak per channel would be a good match.
If the speakers are RMS 250 watt then the radio would be 250 RMS/channel and usually with a four channel radio a total of 1000W RMS
With that much power the neighbors should hear you coming!

KENWOOD KR-V8030 SPECS

I have had this exact Receiver and this is taken right from the specs. in the manual, "120 watts per channel RMS" at 8 ohms - this is in Stereo mode (2 speakers) only". When surround sound is used, "75 watts RMS for Front and Center speakers and 15 watts RMS for rear (surround) speakers. From experience, the Stereo only mode is definitely stronger/louder than when switching to Surround. Most newer receivers are the same wattage regardless of mode.

Need a good 500 watt cd player not sure what to buy

Before you go off on a wattage hunt you should learn what that means.

Search the web for subjects such as "amplifier wattage vs speaker wattage" for starts.

Don't buy into what manuafacturers CLAIM for wattage if it ADDS all the channels together and FAILS to specify a bandwidth and an acceptably low distortion figure. REPUTABLE makers specify watts per channel, all channels driven at no more than X distortion (typically well under .1%) and, at minimum, across the audio bandwidth or 20Hz - 20kHz.

Any garbage cheapo amp (meaning most shelf systems or all-in-one packages) can put out a lot of dirty power which will strain THEM and possibly kill your speakers. CLEAN POWER is what you want.

Dosome reading and search the web for whatever you are considering, and add the word 'scam' to the search. Get opinions from actual owners. There are a lot of unscrupulous people out there selling garbage to people on the streets.
