SOURCE: Sony MHC-RV888D coming error C

Hello, that error code means the laser is not reading.Either because the disc itself is scratched or dirty, the laser is dusty,or worst case the laser is bad. If the disc is in good shape than you will want to try cleaning the laser, first push eject(open),unplug power ,remove top, clean laser lens with dry q-tip. Then reassemble and plug it back in and give it a try.

SOURCE: dvd not playing.c 31 00 occur

The only thing you can do is get a CD DVD player cleaner with liquid. Found at any store these days, then run it a couple times. If it plays, Problem solved, if not, it must be repaired. They will put a new transport in the unit. Usually runs 100-150 to replace. Weigh the cost to fix vs. the cost to replace and the age of the unit before you get it repaired. Hope this helps

Sony 5 disc dvd player says c 31 00

C31 usually means a motor error. In your case, it sounds more like the loading sequence is not completing. Can you please confirm that the model is the DAV-FX10 system?

Thanks,
Dan

Error C:31:00

It seems this sort of problem is very common with this player. The fix I have is pick the player up, rotate it 90° give it a very light nudge, and then put it back. This has fixed the problem on mine each and every time. It will come back, but just do it again. It's probably best to put the dvd player in an easy to reach place cos you'll need to do it often once it starts making the noises and error messages.

Dvd error code 31 00 (not 13 00)

About the dvd error code C 31 00. I just found out and fixed the problem. You must open the top of the machine and move the white moving finger that picks the dvd/cd slot back into its origional place. Via a slot on the left side of the cd compartment about an inch in. The it will then properly pick the dvd/cd that you wish. You must also open each dvd/cd drive again so that your machine will know there is something in it. YOU ARE WELCOME
