Question about Lexmark Platinum Pro905 multifunction InkJet Printer
When trying to scan. It will say "paper load error" "load the original document in the feeder". It was working yesterday with no problems and I didn't change anything.
Try this approach:
1. Remove all the paper from the scanner feeder.2. Re-brick the printer by by pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is plugged into. Re-plug after 30 seconds.3. When the printer turns on, try to scan again to verify that the problem is fixed.
Should the error continue, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

There will be something in there, whether it is toner/ink over a sensor, a paperclip/staple, or a tiny scrap of paper.
The trick with this one is patience, methodically strip it down as far as you can, checking as you go for stuck material, and once you have gone as far as you can put it back together nice and slowly, looking for broken connections and loose bits, then try it again.
If there is nothing in there then the printer has something broken and needs looking at by a technician, in this case you should turn to your warrenty.

Testimonial: "It turned out to be a stuck tab in the top feeder. There was nothing there but I put a paper clip in it and it released back and now it works."
SOURCE: I am trying to scan
A quick to fix to most communication problem is to reboot your system. Disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your computer. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Try to scan again. When scanning using the scanner glass, the scanner light will move across the glass to scan your original document. The printer will then process the image and sends it to your preferred application on your computer.

Tips for a great answer:
You can specify the method for restarting scanning of documents when a paper jam occurs in the feeder.
For information on the optional products required to use this function, see "Optional Products Required for Each Function."
Details of each item are shown below.
[From 1st Page]: If a paper jam occurs in the feeder, scanning starts again from the first page of the document. [From Stopped Original]: If a paper jam occurs in the feeder, scanning starts again from the page of the document scanning was interrupted.
