Question about Sony Ericsson Walkman® W880i Cellular Phone

1 Answer

W880i keeps swithing itself off

This problem has come and gone for the past 10 months, but this week it has happened 4 or 5 times an hour.
Love this phone, but I can not afford to miss important calls.

It happened while still under warranty and Vodacom (South Africa) (Vodacare - Canal Walk - Century City - Cape Town) replaced the battery at no charge.

But the problem persists.

or the problem is a loose connection with the battery

Take your memory card out because it is probably coming out each time you are walking with your phone in your pocket or something like that....

Mine too! I have no idea what's going on with this phone. I love it but when it keeps doing that it frustrates me so much. I paid too much for this phone and I pay too much for phone service and its not right that they don't even wanna give me a new one when I got this one on Monday and an hour later it was cutting off on me. I am very upset

Keeps Shutting OFF (battery shows fully charged)

Have you tried to update the phone's software/firmware? You should be able to get the update software from Sony Ericsson website and follow the instruction. Hope it helps.

Keeps turning off

My w880i used to keep turning its self off from time to time which really got on my nerves, so i wedged a piece of papper in the gap between the battery and housing to stop it from moving. It only moves a tiny bit and shouldnt have fixed it but guess what i havent had a problem since. hopefully the freezing problem is related. good luck

Fuzzy screen

I have exactly the same problem with my W880i. Suddenly, one day, out of the blue it went half and half, the right side completely blank(yet still with the back light on - I think - ). And a few months later (now). It suddenly randomly went completely blank - back light definitely on -. It happened today, and I am desperately searching for a solution. If I take the battery out, put it back in, turn it on, I can feel the vibrate, and notice a slight change in colour on the screen. But it stays completely blank, and hasn't changed in hours. So ANY help would be appreciated.
