Hi my copier displays E7

Check this out :
E7 codes deal with the optical scanner unit and or the laser unit. It could also be the lamp in the scanner unit. The E7 is the main code. There is a sub code associated with it. To view the sub code hold down the start button. Below is a list of specific codes and their meanings:
E7-02: LSU trouble
E7-10: Shading trouble (Black Correction)
E7-11: Shading trouble (White Correction)
E7-12: Shading Trouble
E7-16: Abnormal laser output
If it is a laser (LSU) issue then the LSU may need replacing.
If it is a shading error the first step is to remove the platen glass carefully (with the power off because the inverter board). There is a thin white strip on the bottom side of the platen next to the **** glass. Clean this white strip with a soft cloth and a small amout of isopropyl alcohol.
Dust on the optics can also cause shading reference errors so gently blow off the mirrors with canned air.
Perform the following key procedure to reset error:
"#" key, Interrupt key, "C" key, Interrupt key
"1" key, "4"key
Start key, "CA" key.
See if unit cycles and comes back up. If not turn off and then back on the main power.
If error reappears on site technical service may be required.

Error code F2-04 and E7-10 on AR-168D

F2-04 is an improper cartridge code and the E7-10 is a shading/lamp brightness issue. I would say the F2-04 is causing both coded, Change the toner cartridge. I have seen those chips on the back of the cartridges cause weird problems. That or the developer unit has failed.
I strongly suspest that once you resolve the F2 issue the E7 will simply go away.

Could you be more specific? e7-03 is trouble in your laser unit, e7-04 is dirt on your inside white strip which helps your copy lamp find the home position, and e7-05 is trouble with your copy lens.

HELO

E7-00? = At initialization the white level correction cannot be completed.

You have to clean the white reference plate. Lift the Doc-Feeder, identify the white strip and clean any pen-marks or dirt!

BUT the rest of the code would help!!

  • E7 codes have sub-codes (read by pressing the ‘Print’ button)
  • E7-03 = "Laser Output Error"
  • E7-04/E7-05/E7-12 all refer to problems with the digital reading & laser output
  • E7-15 = Copy Lamp Output problem (doesn’t see the Exposure Lamp light)
