One brake light out , bulb is good

Replace the bulb, only partial is good. It is one bulb for low brake light and high break light when you press the brake pedal.

1985 xv700 virago, one turnsignal not working, flashing fast on display, bulb and socket good

1. turn on the flasher and see if the socket has power by putting a hooking up a voltmeter to the socket and the voltmeter voltage should cycle just like the flashing light in the dash; if it does not cycle then the socket has a connection problem; trouble shoot the socket to see why it has no power. Make sure that the socket contacts are clean and check the wire(s) for damage (may be cut, broken, or shorted).
2. make sure that the bulb is the correct number for the bike and light type (all bulbs are not the same). Test the bulb by connecting it directly to the battery with a set of jumper wires and it should light; connect the metal case to the negative(-) on the battery and the center terminal(s) to the positive(+) on the battery to make the bulb light. If the bulb does not light then it is bad.

Both bulbs on my 2002 S10 Blazer licence plate was burned out I replased them with new bulbs and they will not come on and I have checked the fuses what could be the problem?

you need to check for power and for ground at the lightbulb socket to determine which is not contributing to power the bulb(s). If the marker lights work at the rear then suspect a broken/melted light bulb socket, broken wire, or broken/rusted ground connection. Again, check at the light bulb socket for ground on one side (black wire) and 12V (brown wire) on the other. The light socket should have terminals that actually touch the light bulb; sometimes the sockets will melt not allowing a good connection. a cheap harbor freight multimeter (VOM) will help. Right and left side use separate fuses

I have a hunter ceiling fan model 23898 which has a dimmer switch built in one day a light bulb blew out on it and now we cannot turn off the lights with the switch the only way is to loosen the bulbs in...

Has anyone found a solution for this problem? I have tried a bulb in each light socket and attempted to use the pull/dimmer switch that is on the fan itself. The lights no longer dim nor turn off. I have unscrewed all of the bulbs and tried each bulb in each socket one at a time and still nothing. I have also taken the pull switch out of a different hunter fan to put into this one, hoping that atleast the lights would turn on and off. Still the lights won't turn off using the pull switch. I am out of ideas.

I have a 89 jeep wrangler and the rear passenger side turn light, break light, or tail light will not work. It was working and still is on the front. I have checked bulb and fuse and I cant find. Its like...

Like any bulb, it needspower and ground. Probe the contact in the bulb socket with a test light and check for power. If you have power, use the same ground you did for the test light and connect a short piece of wire there and probe the socket with the bulb installed (insert down into the socket between the bulb and socket) If the light comes on re-ground the socket.
If you get nothing for power check the harness closer to the switch...if nothing there you may need to check the signal switch to make sure an internal contact hasn't failed. I'm betting it's a bad ground though.

Interior light switch not working

check for power at the bulb socket with a test light, making sure your test light has a good ground, then touching the probe to the power terminal of the bulb socket, having the door open or the switch on. if power is there then check to make sure you have a ground at the socket by hooking the test lite to power then touching to the ground terminal of the bulb socket. you must have both ground and power to make a bulb light.

Brake and tail lights

Pull the light bulbs and test the bulb sockets, use a 12 volt test light probe, kinda looks like an ice pick or awl, with the clip lead of the test light at a good ground, probe the contacts to the bulb with the lights on, if the test light glows then there is 12 volts to the socket, if not probe the wire to the socket for power, if it is ok then replace the bulb socket, the dealer can supply this part. 1st though make sure the bulb is good, swap out a working bulb to the non working side,
