Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
I am having trouble with printing in black.I have tried vrious suggested solutions e.g. re setting, reinstalling the software/cleaning printhead/pressing down OK/cancel/black/colour buttons and removing the power chord. It prints ok with all other colours when they are selected but not with black.
HP of America have tried to be helpful but say that it is a hardware fault I and I need to send it to HP UK for repair. They are useless - I can't even get hold of them and when I did they suggested buying a new printer as this one was out of warranty. It is 1.5 years old.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: i860 won't print properly
Buying a new printhead is a mighty good suggestion, it seems you have pretty well used up the maximum service life of your printhead, if i'm not mistaken. Try to reinstall your printer along with its software. Go to settings>control panel > remove hardware> then, reboot. After, rebooting, re-install your printer software and drivers.

You are correct, Below is that section from the manual. Before you follow this, i've found in the past that the cable connector is not seated properly on the rip board, so check this first.
If you require any of the instructions on replacing the printhead or board let me know.
Yellow Printhead Lost Hsync
Check for the correct installation of the all the cables to the RIP
Board assembly and to the Printhead assembly; J2, J3, and J4 on
the RIP Board. Go to “RIP Board” on page 5-11. If the cables are
connected correctly to the RIP Board and to the Printhead
assembly, replace the following FRU:
“RIP Board” on page 4-11
If this does not fix the problem replace:
Yellow Printhead Assembly - Go to “Printheads” on page 4-33.
Note: Whenever a printhead assembly is replaced, it is necessary
to perform the “Printhead Adjustments” on page 4-1.

Get a syringe, remove the needle, remove the ink cartridge and use the syringe to blow air GENTLY through the hole the cartridge connects to. Make sure you have a cleaning cloth to remove ink dislodged from pipe connected at the print head, do this gently to remove any obstruction and there should not be too much mess and can easily be cleaned up.
