Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Turn your computer off.
Turn your computer on, and immediately keep tapping the 'F8' key,
until you see a "boot-menu".

If you never see that menu, connect the monitor to a different computer, e.g., a laptop, and see if the monitor works at all.

When you see the boot-menu, select "Safe Mode".
Reset the video-resolution to 800-by-600, and restart.

This can happen if the minus button which happens to also be the auto image-adjust button is effectively grounded due to some internal fault or
if the switch itself has got jammed internally. In this case, if video signal is present, the motitor reproduces the image but continuously displays "adjusting" as osd message. If video signal is missing, the monitor cycles through solid colors in the black, red, green, blue, white sequence. I think this is part of the hp f1532 design to help the service
engineer( though I have not found any reference to it in official documentation yet). In this special case( minus button grounded), the
menu button is ignored by the monitor.

Try removing the command to startup the lexmark printer monitor from the startup file. Just run "msconfig" and uncheck the command. Then reboot and try the update again.

There should be a button on the keyboard that controls the output...it is done by pressing the Fn key (function) in combination with the Fkey (all those F1..F2..and so on next to the Escape key) Also, you can Right click anywhere on the desktop (the first screen you get when the computer boots to Vista) and when you get the set of menus, choose the bottom one calle "Personalize" This will bring up the "Personalization" screen. Here you can choose the bottom "Display Settings" to make sure you have your second monitor (external) ready under the "extend my desktop onto this monitor" check. Go on and click on the #1 screen and the #2 screen and play with the options so you get a good feel for them and to see wich one works best for you.. Hope this helps.
