Hello trichild4eva,
Welcome to fixya,
.
You said, The water is not coming into my dishwasher, you have checked the inlet pipes etc and the water is going through them, just not making it into the dishwasher

What is the BRAND and MODEL Number and year of your dishwasher. Model can be found on sticker inside.

Did you turn off the power at the breaker for 5 minutes to see if it resets the system?

Here are four things to check for this problem!

Water source turned off
Check to ensure the water source is turned on and water is getting to the water inlet valve.

Float switch
The float switch allows water to enter into the machine to a point where the float will rise up off of the switch and disconnect power to the water inlet valve. If the switch is defective or the float is stuck in the up position, the water will not enter into the machine

Defective water inlet valve

If there is 110v across the two wires on the water inlet valve when the machine is set to fill, the valve should open and the water should enter into the machine. If the water does not enter, the valve is defective.

Defective Timer

The timer is a series of switches that controls all machine functions. If one of the contacts in the timer is defective, the machine will lose that function. knowledge of the the use of a vol/ohmmeter is essential to testing the timer as well as the ability to read the timer sequence chart that is supplied with the machine. In most cases this requires a professional technician.

Water keeps coming into the machine, looking for electric valves.

The solenoid valve is under the machine. It will be a block of metal installed with fittings into the water pipe and it has a plastic cylinder attached to it. The cylinder will have two wire terminals on the end opposite the valve block and is typically about 3/4" dia. x 1 1/2" long.

Hello Wayne, Welcome to Fixya ! You've come to the right place. The problem you're experiencing sounds like (unfortunately) a common one. The water inlet valve has been an issue with B/S/H built ( this includes bosch, thermador, seimens & gaggenau ) dishwasher's going back to the mid 90's. The part to repair it is available at most brick & mortar appliance part centers ( not sure about Aussie mate ) or you can check out on-line vendors such as repairclinic.com, apwagner.com etc. Do a search for part # 1105846 at repairclinic ( that is their part # not B/SH/ ) you'll see what I'm talikng about. By the way it's about $35. Hope that helps move you forward. Let me know if I can assist you further, or need help on how to change it etc. It's relatively easy with Bosch. Thanks for coming to "fixya" for your inquiries and please take a second to rate this answer according to my helpfulness. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

When starting wash cycle the dishwasher cda cw447 doesnt appear to be getting enough water in and is making a droning / whirring / electrical ? noise. pipes all connected ok inc aquastop water supply unit,...

Try removing the inlet pipe, and refitting, might fix it, else likely that the
Inlet water soleniod failing/failed or tiny mesh filter (it does come out for cleaning) behind the inlet hose clogged. Temporaily bypass the aquastop water stop unit; it might be the culprit!

A replacement solenoid is usually only about £10 from www.espares.co.uk, or ebay sellers (no connection with these but they are very good), fits in minutes (2 or 3 electrical spades ,and a posidrive or two) and usually fixes all water related problems. the noise you can hear is probably the solenoid trying to actuate, will be droning/buzzing sound.
could simply be stuck with some foreign matter in there that's got through the mesh filter but unlikely. they normally fail and sound terrible.

Don't throw your dishwasher away for the sake of a £10 part.
Good luck

The water does come out, but the arm won't spin

Is the water turned on hard enough by the machine and is the inlet pipe ok - ie no kinks. If all ok, go to the Hotpoint website - they have a trouble shooting section. Failing that find the customer service number on the website and ask if there is anything you can do to solve the problem yourself before paying for a service call out.

Dishwasher does not fill with water

First (I know this sounds bad but it does happen)check to see the tap is turned on (I have had where the owner thinks the tap is on and asked if I am nuts turns out the cleaning lady switched it off) If so turn off the tap and remove the inlet hose from the machine, there should be a filter in the unit where the pipe screws on this is more than likely blocked if so clean and replace pipe etc check on the tap side sometimes there is one there aswell clean if dirty,if there is still no water then we need to go deeper, the pressure switch could be fualty or there may be water in the pressure tube wich will tell the timer that the machine is full etc,I would however suggest you check the above first if you do not come right let me know and we can then investigate further.

Miele g 646 sc (not plus)

check the inlet where it joins onto the tap as mine has a fine filter and debris from the fresh water builds up. Simply remove the pipe from the tap and **** ,this should remove /dislodge any scale etc that could be causing the inlet light to come on. Make sure you spit out the water that comes back from the machine!
