Question about PC Desktops

I've got a USB desktop microphone, and the manual says that in order to record something, I need to go to Start, then Programmes, and on from there. Programmes is not an option when I click on Start. Any clues?

I have a thompson ths220 recorder and am unable to record programmes. I go in to epg menu and book a programme but the usb file is not compatible


It is possible that the USB drive is not formatted to the required specification (FAT/FAT32).

I am trying to use a new Logitech USB desktop microphone with my Mac OS X version 10.4.11. It seems to be working beecause the screen icon fluctuates when I speak, but I cannot find a way to record...


please keep the microphone a bit away from ur screen... its because, powerful electro magnets will be ther in the microphone... wen u keep it very close to the screen, the waves cause the fluctuation in the screen which wil shorten the life off ur screen

Internal microphone not working


Which operating system ?
Click start control panel on the left select Hardware and Sound then select manage audio devices then recording you should see a Microphone right click select enable Windows 7
Click start control panel on the left select hardware and sound then select manage audio devices then recording you should see a Microphone right click select configure speech recognition then
You will see earphones with a speaker among a list set up a microphone headset with Microphone then next and next again you should see your earphones with microphone being configured
Click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it or select audio from the microphone drop down list
Make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or
select the voice tab
Make sure that you have the right media selected also
select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it

Windows 7 right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar select either playback or recording devices you should see your microphone listed under the recording tab right click on it select
properties at the bottom select use this device enable

My microphone will not working


Make sure you have the microphone checked as a recording device in the Auido Sound Properties. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Sound or Audio and look through it to make sure the Microphone is selected as a recording device, that the volume is up and that the microphone is not muted.

You can also click the megaphone at the bottom right near the time to get to the Audio Sound properties.

There might be a way of testing the recording device by clicking Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder.

If all fails try downloading and reinstalling the Audio Drivers.
Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "CompaqSupport" or "HP Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.

Use the following best practices to capture sound more easily.
  1. Adjust the notebook screen to place the microphone in the best direction for receiving sound.
  2. Click Start , enter sound in the search field and select Sound Recorder from the list.
  3. Click Record and speak into the microphone. Save the file to an easily-accessible location, such as the desktop.
  4. To play back the recorded sound, open the file using Windows Media Player.
  5. When using the internal microphone, choose an environment without background noise.
  6. If the recorded sound does not play back, continue to the next section of this document.

The microphone does not work.


Make sure the mic is plugged in to the purple jack on the back of the machine - also make sure that the mic port is selected for recording - check control panel -> sounds and audio devices -> advanced under "device volume" - this will bring up the Volume Control - select Options -> properties -> recording and make sure that the Select box is checked under the microphone slider.

configure u r Microphone properly and there if start record u can see

With the usb drive connected to the pc,

Open my computer, there will be a new drive listed there (ie: f: ) or something like that.. This is your usb driver.. double click on that, and in there, there should be a setup.exe file, double click that to install Arcsoft.
