How do I reset my Miele Navitronic W2888 washing machine
For some reason it went in alarmmodus and on the display I see: error waterproof! Close the water inlet. Call for a technical specialist. I cleaned all the filters, unplugged the power, it has no leakage at all but still it stays in this error. How can I reset it?

Hi Dear. Seems like your machine had internal leak. Float switch has been activated. That triggers error message on the display. What you can do is: Tilt the machine 45 degree (Back or forward which ever easy for you) wait for leaked water come out underneath the machine. If water comes out of machine, it's a indication of one of the plastic component failed(it could be drain hose- tub to pin trap hose- may be inlet valve etc....) If there is no water coming out of machine, float switch may be malfunctioning. In that cases you need to contact Miele center to get help.Thanks.
I have been trouble shooting my own Miele issue and may have found your answer, which seems to be easily fixed. Apparently one can reset the water fault sensor by tipping the machine forward at 45 degrees. If water comes out the bottom pan, then you will have reset the sensor. You should check for leaks especially in the door gasket. However if it comes on again, you probably have a leak that you need to address.
Have you tried to clean the filter recently ? If you have , water may have seeped into the machine, tip it forward and the water should drain out , if it does the same error you have something leaking inside the machine.
I just received this error message on my Miele W 1712 (Waterproof Fault). Prior to this I had an error message regarding the Drain outlet, so I opened the drain outlet and cleaned it. I think I might have opened it too quickly and therefore creating the (Waterproof Fault). The problem is that when you open the drain outlet too quickly the water runs into the bottom of the washing machine where some sensor lies and you get the (Waterproof Fault) error message on the display and not even turning off the machine will do anything to get rid of this annoying message. 1. Turn off the machine 2. Unplug it 3. Open the drain outlet and take out the plug. 4. Dry all the visible water with a cotton cloth. 5. Tilt the machine FORWARD and hold it until you see water gushing from underneath the machine. 6. Repeat this until you see no more water. 7. Plug the machine back inn. 8 VOILA no error message! I hope in your case :)
Hi
There are two variant of this model one with normal fill hose and triple valve and one with waterproof system and triple valve. If you have change water proof hose (one with grey box on end) then it only leaves the triple valve.if waterproof hose is fitted be sure to order 110volt triple valve
Sounds like you may have flooded the base of the unit and activated the float switch. Tip the unit forward slightly with a towel at the base and all the water will pour out. You should be right to run the unit after that and any other water inside will dry up. it won't rust as it is stainless steel inside.
You may just have over sudded the unit by using the wrong detergent or too much. After you have the unit running again test the unit with no detergent and see if you activate the waterproof system again. if you do then you will probably have a split hose inside the unit.
I just received this error message on my Miele WPS 4146 (Waterproof Fault) Prior to this I had an error message regarding the Drain outlet, so I opened the drain outlet and cleaned it.
So here is the fix that worked for me.
