Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console

My PSP Wont Work Properly

I bought the Simpson's Game for my PSP and it came with a new update. The update worked fine and it came with a theme so i went online and downloaded a couple more themes of my choice for my PSP (the themes off that website work for my brother's PSP but he has the original black one and i have a slim, lite pink one) and when i clicked on "apply theme" it said "applying theme, please wait" , so i waited and it took ages then it turned itself off. now when i turn it on all you can see is the original yellow wavy wallpaper, there is no menus on the home screen and after like 5 seconds it turns itself off again. but if you put a game in then turn it on, you can play the games. it it the home menu that is stuffed.
can anyone help me?

My psp isnt playing a brand new game. it wont load the umd. the umd is pretty clean. i wait for it to load and it wont.

Below where the UMD game appears on screen try the button below that should say 'Update PSP'. The game could have an update for the PSP and won't play without it. If this doesn't work contact Sony Website Forums and see if anybody there has had the problem.

THEMES OF PSP

Themes are kind of tricky. If your themes were created for 5.00 or just about any other firmware version then they won't work on 5.50. Same for just about all the other updates, themes are made specifically for it's particular firmware. If it was made for 5.50 then it should work but I know from downloading about 10 themes personally, only 2 worked.

I reformatted my memory stick but the root folders where also deleted, what should I do now?

Create them yourself. Here's what you should make:
The indentions show what goes in each folder.
Ex: COMMON goes inside PSP, UPDATE goes inside PSP, etc.

Removable Disk:
   -VIDEO
   -MUSIC
   -PICTURE
   -MP ROOT
       -100ANV01
       -101ANV01
       -100MNV01
   -PSP:
       -COMMON
       -MUSIC
       -PHOTO
       -GAME:
            -UPDATE
       -SAVEDATA
       -RSSCH
       -SYSTEM
       -THEME

Try replacing the battery with a new one. I have had batteries short out in the past.

PSP screen wont go on

What happened was that the new game was doing the update before you said no. It was removing the memory from the psp and when you try to turn it back on, there is no memory for it to start. The only that can be done is that it has to going into the shop for repair/exchange....there is nothing you can do to get back the psp working again. It also happened to me and Sony explained the problem.
