Hello jyotansingh
Welcome,

You said, blocked drain in my dish washer
Try to turn off the dishwasher.
THEN turn off the power at the breaker for 5 minutes and see if this resets the system!
If not then we go on to this next issue.

Here are 5 possibilities!
If you can not do these checks you may need a pro to help you!

Defective Motor

The water pump is driven by the drive motor. If the motor is defective, the pump will not operate and the water will remain in the tub.

Drain Line

Check the drain line for kinks. If the line checks out visually, it could be an obstruction in the line.

Defective Pump

Most but not all dishwashers incorporate a reversible motor. By using a pump impeller and wash impeller, the action of washing and draining is accomplished by the reversing of the motor. If the drain impeller in the pump is defective, the water will not drain. Check the pump impeller for proper operation

Defective Timer

The timer is a series of switches that controls all machine functions. If one of the contacts in the timer is defective, the machine will lose that function. knowledge of the the use of a vol/ohmmeter is essential to testing the timer as well as the ability to read the timer sequence chart that is supplied with the machine. In most cases this requires a professional technician.

Garbage Disposal

If a garbage disposal has recently been installed, make sure the knock out for the dishwasher drain hose has been removed. You should also make sure that no items under the sink have been pushed into the drain hose. Any kink or crmp in the hose can cause it to stop draining.

Let me know how it goes!

Dish washer not emptying

put your model # into a google search and choose a place that has parts and look up your drain pump. you probably have either a clogged drain hose, not likely, or a bad pump.

Dishes are still dirty. I have used every kind of dishwasher aide, half loaded it and dishes are still dirty, I let the water run until very hot before starting the washer. The washer says you don't have...

Suggest the problem may be a plumbing issue - likely substantially blocked drain system, so the dirty wash water cannot properly pump out but rather remains in the dishwasher.

Suggest getting a plumber in to "snake" out your kitchen drain system. You will probably notice your sink drains will suddenly work much better too...

Not cleaning dishes properly

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

Dirty dishes post cycle are a sign of draining problems however this is a list of what it could be.

1. A partially clogged drain
2. The timer motor is not functioning properly
3. A broken or worn pump impeller

Here is what you need to do:

Check your entire drain system. Start at the final outlet and work your way backward to the motor pump connection on the dishwasher.

Suspected areas are.

a. The sink connection outlet is clogged (this can be inside a garbage disposal.

b. The air-gap is clogged in the very top part of the air-gap (Usually located on the back of the sink and is around 3 inches tall) Remove the cover, unscrew the top nut and check under the horse shoe bend inside the plastic top for obstructions. Clean as needed)

c. There is debris on top of the the motor pump housing blocking the inlet drain. (This would be inside the housing of the lower wash arm on the very bottom)

d. The motor pump outlet drain port is partially blocked. (only accessable from the motor pump exit hole after drain hose removal.)

A partially blocked inlet tub drain to the motor pump would also explain your soap dispenser problem. Additionally you would have spotted dishes post cycle.

When the drain is partially blocked some models use the float level switch in the tub to control the advancement of the timer. If the water does not drain the motor pump continues to run and run and the cycle does not advance until the tub is drained and the float switch senses same. i.e extended cycle

Thanks for using FixYa.

GE Profile Dishwasher (5 years old); Leaving residue on dishes

In my case the counter mounted breather for the drain tube was being restricted ... finally to the point it would not drain the tub at all. I disassembled the above counter drain assembly and cleaned it out as it wass completely blocked and things work very well again. I would suggest this foirst as it is an easy task and is done 'above the counter'.
I then ran 2 cups of CLR with wash cycle ... no dishes to clean out the rest of the washer as on dissaembly of the internals to diagnose they were and very scummed up with a hard white crusty substance that was completely blocking some of the drain sump performations.

Have a trouble: dish-washer will not drain.

I just moved into a new house and builder had provided a dish washer drain just below my kitchen drain line.

DIsh washer install was done by me, every thing worked out OK except dish washer would not drain after a wash cycle.

Cause: drain provided by builder was blocked and needed a circular small cut before mounting drain hose over it.
