My samsung hard disk can still be detected by the bios on POST and by the windows but it wont show or it does'nt appear when I open a windows explorer. I tried using a partitioning program,it shows the hard disk is not yet partitioned so I try to partitioned it but to no avail, it cannot be partitioned by that program. I tried also using the fdisk on DOS mode to repartitioned the hard disk but it gives me an error of "error reading fixed disk". I s this hard disk can still be fixed?

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard disk has failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. . Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.
Most likely, hard drive failure.
If a portable, re-seat the drive, then reset the bios defaults, and see if the hard drive is detected.
If a desktop/Tower, re-seat the cable connections to the drive and the motherboard, reset the bios and see if the drive is detected.
If the "Noise" from the drive is a grinding sound, a repeating Click, or a laser sound similiar to a star wars movie then almost guaranteed drive failure.
Right click "My Computer" and select Manage. In the window, select Disk Management on the left column. If the drive is not listed on the right column, then the BIOS has not detected the harddrive - it might have a harddrive password lock. You will need to go into the BIOS and unlock it with the password.
The disk is about to fail and Windows is corrupted. Boot from a Linux Live-CD and copy all your data to an external hard disk. Then replace the hard disk with a new one and junk this one, reinstall Windows and copy all your files from the external hard disk in the new internal one.
it means insert your copy of windows operating system to finish the installation if you already have a operating system on your hard drive and if you dont wish to remove it when in bios scroll down Adavanced bios features and change settings on first boot device
Better to check if your Hard Disk have a power. By knowing that it is working you have to go BIOS and see it there that it is recognize as Primary or Secondary Setup. Boot Failure have the options why it won't run from the hard drive. #1 Maybe its not detected in your PC or no power, check again inside your CPU if it is properly connect. #2 No windows or any system available. #3 If all of this are not then your Hard Drive are defective. That's is my analysis on your problem. Hope this might help you to know what is that problem for. Good luck!
1.do your computer works good. 2. your hardisk is detected before running the windows, is it. 3. after getting inside the window, your hard disk is not shown... is it.. 4. click my computer and explore.
