Unfortunately, the lithium battery for the clock is located on the control switch block, which is a flexible board and Sony does not supply the battery as a separate part. Also, it is quite involved to get to the switch block to replace it. I wouldn't recommend your average consumer tackle this job. Even though this isn't the news you're looking for, I would appreciate a decent rating. Thanks.

Dell Inspiron 700m resets clock to January 1, 2002 every time it powers off

There is an internal battery for CMOS. Looks like small watch battery. The size of a nickle. This is the one that hold and keeps the clock and other settings.
This one has a plastic housing. Should be easy.Very nice manual. https://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins700m/en/SM/rsrvbatt.htm#wp1084976

Emerson Smart Set Clock Radio CKS3095S

You need to reset the microprocessor in the Clock/Radio. To do this you must unplug the Clock/Radio from the A/C source. You must also remove the internal battery (CR2430). You must let the Clock/Radio set without any power source for at least 3 hours to allow all the power to drain from the microprocessor. After the power has drained from the microprocessor, you can reinsert the internal battery and reconnect the Clock/Radio to the A/C power source. Now test the Clock/Radio, to See if the functions have returned to normal. If they have not returned to normal, unplug the Clock/Radio from the A/C power source and remove the internal battery. Replace this battery with a new Battery (CR2430). Let the microprocessor drain all the power out. Then reinsert the new battery and plug the Clock/Radio in to the A/C power source. The Clock/Radio functions should have returned to normal. If this is not the case, then you may have a more serious problem with the Clock/Radio. You will need to call the Emerson Customer Support. The Emerson Customer Support Telephone number is 1-800-909-1240. Give them the make and model number of your Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance with your problem. I hope this information helps you solve your problem. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day.
