Yes you probably pulled out the cable. Take your keyboard back out and look for a small flat cable that runs under the palm rest.

How do I diagnose and fix my laptop's sound problem? Should I just throw it out the window?

From the description you have a hardware problem possibily caused by the ipod plugged into the headphone jack of the laptop. I'am convinced the sound section on the motherboard is damaged, probably the audio output ic. But to trouble shoot the problem will require someone with a strong background in electronics, I would suggest going no further until you have estimate in hand.

Acer inspire 5332key board problems

Try reinstalling/updating the driver, click: start>control panel>hardware and sound>device manager. Look for keyboards and expand the menu. Right click on the keyboard adapter and click properties. The first tab (general) will tell you if the device is working properly. Click on the drivers tab, choose update driver and search automatically for updated software. You can also try to; uninstall the keyboard, reboot the machine and let windows install a new driver.

I was in the middle of cleaning up my laptop (deleting stuff i do not want on my laptop) and when i had finished my keyboard did not work(built in keyboard) nor my built in touch mouse keypad did not...

This usually works for most device problems. Go to the device manager and scroll down to the mice and pointing devices as well as the keyboard. If the keyboard and the touchpad are listed in the device menu, then you can right click on the device and click on update driver. Windows will search update for a fresh driver. If the devices are not listed, then go to Acer support (link below) put in the model of the laptop....Aspire > 1640Z and a list of downloads will come up. Download the drivers for the keyboard and /or touchpad. After they are downloaded, run the apps, they usually self install.

If they are listed in the device manager (device manager is in the control XP, look in the system flder under the hardware tab.) and the above fix does not work, then scroll down to them and when you right click, Hit un-install, but keep the drivers. Do this one at a time and let the system reboot after each uninstall. Windows will detect the device and load the driver for it.

After win xp sp2 installation my c700 notebook pc keyboard malfunctioning

Your keyboard uses a driver(small pieces of sftware). Windows might have corrupted the driver with no intentions. You can get into safe mode by pressing F8 on some models and you can either restore just before the update or uninstall the knowledge base update that caused it.

Mass storage controller driver

IDE controller starts to install the driver automatically as soon as you restart. The best way to get it completely removed from your comp is that in case you are using Windows XP or higher version goto Safe mode by tapping the F8 key on the keyboard on restart. goto control panel to Add/ remove programmes and uninstall the software completely. I hope I helped you out.
