Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

Printer won't print

My Kodak AIO printer will print a test page, it will copy but itt will not print from the computer itself. The printer is going back and forth like it is printing but sometimes I get a totally blank page and sometimes I just get the horizontal line. A couple times I got a vertical line from an e-mail. Any ideas? Makes no sense since it prints the test page and prints out copies that you lay on the copy glass.

    I am having the same problem~ I bought this Kodak Printer and it won't print anything. They sent me a new printer head w/new cartridges but still, nothing.

Printing on stand alone has a big difference when printing from pc.... try using the kodak website for this issue www.kodak.com/go/itg and use "image quality and blank page" for subclass

I try to print a card or bank statements and nothing is printing just put in new ink, it only prints the 1st page of a quarter fold card, it should all be on one page and it prints only partial card


IF the Kodak AiO printer is printing partial ther are two main device of the printer that have issue on the scanner [where you put the document for copying] or the printhead of the printer.
Step that you can do
1. Try to print a test page in this way you can check if the printer prints whole page. How to print test page press copy button and photo button on the printer for atleast 10 sec. or until the printer starts printing. Reminder Test page doesn't need a document on the scanner glass. It will print an advertising doc for the printer. Now if the test page is half/partial it is the printhead that has an issue. If it print the whole page it is the scanner that has issue contact kodak for printer repair
2.Clean the printhead twice and reseat the printhead it
How: press menu button then select clean printhead then select basic/deep clean. To reseat printhead open the printer access door; remove the ink cartridges; remove the printhead; close the printer access door then open the printer access door insert the printhead then the ink cartridges.

My kodak AiO esp 5 Printer prints the test page correctly but will not print anything from the computer - it says that has printed and makes the noises and acts like it's printing but the page comes out...


try to clean the printhead of your printer for you to clean the pritnhead you may launched the home center on the upper right corner click the help icon(?) then select maintenance and click on clean printhead.

try to print also a sample picture using the home center.

if this issue not solve tyr to reinstall the software and the driver of the printer or call kodak toll free 1 800 421 6699

If you can print a test page using a printer it means printer is working fined. You just need to concentrate on the software or settings form the computer

How important is downloading kodak home centre software for the kodak printer to work?


Kodak AiO home center, serve as a driver as well for your printer to print from the computer. It will let you scan, copy or print pictures. AIO home center will let you select the settings you want for your printer

Need to clean the heads but can't find instructions to do it.


To clean the printhead press: COPY and CANCEL at the same time.
To print a test page press: QUALTITY and CANCEL at the same time.
Go to Kodak AIO home center, click on the"?" and open the "user guide" for the complete manual. Wish they put in a printed version, put they don't. Good luck with the printer, mind has been nothing but problems. And keep trick of what you print. You will be shocked at the low output. Report it to Kodak and they might sent you new inks.

  1. Open the Printers folder:
  2. XP Operating System: Select Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes.
  • VISTA Operating System: Select Start > Control Panel > Printers.

  1. Delete all ESP 7 and ESP 9 printers from the folder. The printers are listed as "KodakESP7+xxxx" or "KodakESP9+xxxx", where xxxx can be any number.

  2. Close the Printers folder.

  3. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your computer keyboard, then select Task Manager.

  4. Select the Processes tab.

  5. Stop each of the following processes. For each process, click the process, then click End Process.
  6. AiOHomeCenter.exe
  • EasyShare.exe
  • EKDiscovery.exe
  • EKIJ5000MUI.exe
  • KodakSvc.exe
  • mDNSResponder.exe

I can understand your concerns. Just try to copy a document from the printer , by placing it on the scanner glass of the printer and by pressing Copy on the printer.if it copies,that means the printer is working absolutely fine.As far as the printing from computer is concerned,i would recommend you to
Kindly go to control panel-add or remove programs and then remove bonjour,Kodak all in one printer software and microsoft.net framework Go to start,go to run and type in "services.msc", without the quotes in the open box and press ok. restart the following services by clicking on stop the service and start the service. 1. background intelligent transfer. 2.cryptographic service. 3.windows installer. 4. remote procedure call locator. 5. printer spooler. make surethat they are set to automatic not manual.
install the latest version of Kodak software from www.kodak.com/go/downloads Your issue will be fully resolved.

KODAK AiO Home Center has encountered a problem


you need to uninstall the software and reinstall it, if you have not tried that. For XP Start-->control panel-->add/remove programme-->look for Kodak Printer software and uninstall it. For Vista Start-->control panel-->programmes and features and uninstall the software. Run the Kodak clear utility from http://unexpectedtwist4u.com/matthew and click on clear utility and you can either run it or save it first and then run it. Make sure to unplug the USB cable after uninstalling the software and reinstall the software from www.kodak.com/go/esp3downloads. Kodak phone support is open from 9 am to 12 midnight EST. Hope that works:)

Kodak esp 5 won't scan to computer


Here is the solution I found on the Kodak ESP 5 Support Center web page. Hope it helps or else maybe just visit the web page and browse it to see if you can find the solution to your specific problem.

Question : How do I scan from my all-in-one printer using MICROSOFT WINDOWS Imaging Acquisition (WIA) Drivers on a computer running WINDOWS VISTA Operating System? Answer : For computers running WINDOWS VISTA Operating System:
  1. Click Start > Programs/All Programs, and select Windows Photo Gallery.
  2. Click Scan at the bottom of the Windows Photo Gallery window, then click New Scan at the top of the window.
  3. Select KODAK ???? AiO (where ???? is the model number) from the Select Device window, then click OK.
  4. Click Preview and make whatever adjustments needed to achieve the desired scan.
  5. When you have made the desired adjustments, click Scan.
    During scanning, the progress is displayed.
    When the scan is complete, the file is displayed in the Windows Fax and Scan window, along with a preview of the file.
  6. Click Save as... to save the file, or click the Print icon to print the file from the Windows Fax and Scan application.
