Question about Dell P991 19" CRT Monitor

2 Answers

Suddenly has the jitters. No change to nearby magnetic fields.

Monitor is about 7 years old. Video card is "NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS" with 32MB. The jitters have appeared starting a few weeks ago and are sometimes more "violent" than at other times. I have experimented with various refresh rates -no change-. There has been no change in the magnetic fields near the monitor. I tried degaussing, and then I had to readjust the OSD for geometry and size. Is this monitor on its way to never-never-land?
Thanks for your help.

Are you using an old CRT? Why haven't you upgraded?

Try connecting it to the onboard video. If it's still messed up, that'd rule out the video card at least.

SOURCE: I have a Dell P1130

Sounds like an adapter problem.

If you have tired mutiple monitors then the card/adapter is the only problem/cause left.

You need to replace the adapter/card or motherboard (if the video is on-board).

There is not other reason. Drivers and updates will not help.

SOURCE: Shadow Lines Across Screen on Dell P1130 CRT Monitor

What sort of shadow lines? I assume you haven't just noticed the two horizontal lines 1/3rd up the screen from the bottom and 1/3rd down from the top from the internal stabilizing wires that all Trinitron CRTs have?

What video graphics card will convert vpr matrix 1620 to a vga connector?

Are you referring to the connector shown below? If so, you might be able to find a old EGA to VGA converter, or you need to replace the video card with any VGA video card for an AGP slot.
According to this site, http://www.easyhelpguide.com/manual/VPRMatrix-1620-Manual.html
, the original video card was a NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS-V26174165-bqqpoqfgk1hfvr1c2liydaq2-2-0.jpg

Monitor is vibrating

You will be having with a strong magnetic field very close to the monitor. It could be speakers , Power supply of the speakers , UPS or the CPU itself. Try and getting some distance between the magnetic field. Shutdown the comp completely do the shifting and then restart and see
