Question about Plumbing

He center piece of kitchen faucet (where hot/cold water comes out, has popped up off it's base

I have a Price Pfister faucet with a center spigot where the hot adn cold come out together. Tongith I ran the water and the pressure just blew it off. I can see the threads on the part that came off but can't see how to screw it back on, since the spigot will not turn a full 360 (the backsplash is in the way) Do I REALLY need a plumber for this??

Iam assuming you are refeerring to the aerator which is a small round object with small screens inside of it through which the water runs. It mixes air into the water to give it a more uniform and controlled flow pattern as well as filtering out some debris. If this is the case than you could do the job yourself as long as thee threads are still good internally and externally. The piece screws into the bottom of the spout and the the threads it screws into are internal and therefore are not visible while the faucet is attached unless one is a contortionist. The threads usually are fine and sill usually screw in with little effort. If you encounter a bit of resistance you may be cross threading it. Just back it off and try again. It is a very doable task. Thanks for using Fix Ya and I hope I have been of assistance. If you need further help please let me know.

Just purchased the Price Pfister 42-YP. The hot water has limited water - just a trickle. What can i do to adjust?

Hi, David pressuming the water flow was good before you put in this new tap, then other than a problem with the tap! have you checked if you have an isolater valve on the pipe work under the unit, if so check that it is fully opened?
Thanks Paul.

I installed Series 26 Avalon faucet. The water flow rate is very slow. All fittings to the faucet are new. Could the problem be a faulty valve ?

Remove and clean the Price Pfister aerator. Turn the water on after you remove the aerator and check the flow-rate. Many new Lavatory and kitchen faucets are now equipped with Eco friendly water saver aerators. if the flow is normal without the aerator, the faucet is OK. if you want more water flow from your lavatory faucet, you will need to buy one of the old style high flow aerators from your hardware store. If you remove the aerator and still get low pressure from both hot and cold faucets, you may need to replace the faucet. Call the Price Pfister warranty phone number that came with your faucet.

Loss of pressure in kitchen faucet - Price Pfister

Your problem is a simple one.

  1. Turn off water to faucet.
  2. Place a towel(s) in the base of the sink(s) to prevent any parts from going down drain.
  3. Remove the handle to the faucet. (single handle only)
  4. If not a single handle then remove spout from faucet.
  5. If a single handle remove cap carefully and any loose parts.
  6. Gently turn spout side to side while lifting to remove.
  7. You will see a hole with a very small valve where the water comes out to the spout on the base of the faucet.

  1. Remove this valve (which is a backflow preventer) and replace.
  2. Reassemble and test.
Problem solved.
