How to get off safe mode

Step 1
Getting out of Safe Mode may be both easy and complicated at the same time. The primary consideration is the reason why the machine is booting into this status. If it was user initiated, the easiest way is to click on the 'Start' button and select the 'Turn Off Computer' option.
Step 2
This will bring up the window with the 'Standby', 'Turn Off', and 'Restart' options. Choose either 'Restart' or 'Turn Off'. Upon rebooting or powering up of the machine, the Operating System should automatically load into Normal Mode. Take note that some users are misled into believing that the system is in Safe Mode primarily due to the incorrect setting of the video. If the system is in Safe Mode, it should be stated at the corners of the screen.
Step 3
If the system keeps on rebooting on Safe Mode, this is a possible indication of a problem in loading startup components. Reboot the machine.
Step 4
During the reboot process, press the 'F8' key to display the boot-up options. In this window, select the 'Last Known Good Configuration' option. The Operating System will attempt to locate the last settings that successfully loaded the Operating System.
Step 5
If still unsuccessful, allow the machine to boot into Safe Mode. Click on the 'Start' button and choose the 'Control Panel' option.
Step 6
Click on the 'Performance and Maintenance' category and click on the 'System' icon. This should open the System Properties window.
Step 7
Click on the 'Hardware' tab and click on the 'Device Manager' button. Check for any exclamation or question mark beside any entry. Reload the corresponding device driver for the erroneous component. Repeat Step 2; this should boot the system in Normal Mode.
Step 8
If the computer system entered Safe Mode via the System Configuration utility, then it can only boot in Normal Mode using the same tool. Click on the 'Start' button and choose 'All Programs'. Click on the 'System Tools' category and select the 'System Information' option.
Step 9
From the new window, click on the 'Tools' Menu and select 'System Configuration Utility'. Under the 'General' tab, select the 'Normal Startup' option.
Step 10
Click on the 'OK' button and restart the machine as described in Step 2. This will load the system in Normal Mode.

How do you fix the blue screen of death on a dell computer

Check if you can still go to the boot options once you start your PC.

How to go to boot options:
1. Restart computer
2. once computer is turning on, keep tapping F8 key
3. Boot options menu should now appear
4. use keyboard arrow to choose safe mode with networking or last good known configuration
If you are able to go to safe mode, it means that you might have installed a program or software that messed up your PC. uninstall the program then reboot and check if it will boot up normally
If safe mode did not work, use last good known configuration, this will attempt to load your computer on the last time it worked (previous days)

If the above solutions did not work, you can use the windows recovery cd that came with your computer. Here you can repair your computer using the fix and repair option

If all else fails, the only way to fix it would be to reformat the PC

Hope this helps

Had to download the latest version of itunes. when my computer tried to restart it freezes on the hp invent screen and won't load at all. tried unplugging from power to restart and it still freezes at...

Please restart your computer and keep tapping F8 key, you should see a screen which while give you options to choose like normal mode, safe mode etc. In that screen please use your up and down arrow key to choose last known good configuration and hit enter.

This should take your computer back to the previous settings when your computer is working fine.

Note: if you have allready tried to go to safe and were able to go to safe mode then do not choose this method.

If you can go to safe mode use system restore (steps vary from windows version to version). Restore you computer's settings to a previous setting (Steps for XP - Start - Programs (or all programs) accessores - system tools and click on system restore and follow the onscreen instructions to restore your computer settings to a day or 2 previous to installig the new software.

Note: this system restore does not destroy your data (your pictures and files) but you will loose the new softwares installed between today and the day you choose.

Ibm thinkpad t30 how to get it to enter safe mode

Turn the computer off Turn the computer on Immediately hit F8 several times a second until a black and white menu appears, if you get the windows splash, you missed it. Start over Select which way you want windows to start in safe mode You will get a lot of white messages on a black screen You will then get a message that says proceed to safe mode or do a system restore to recover Proceed to safe mode.
If this answers your question, I'd appreciate 4 thumbs up as I do this for fun.

How do you put windows into safe mode?

Power on or Restart your computer, keep tapping F8 on the keyboard while it boots up. After few seconds, you'll be taken to the "Advanced Boot Options" with "Safe Mode" in the lists. Use the Up-Down arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode" and press enter on the keyboard to confirm the selected boot options. Black Screen with white texts will be displayed on the display, wait for few seconds until you see the windows logon Screen. You'll also see a confirmation message box asking you to confirm to boot into Safe Mode, click "yes" or "Ok" and proceed forward. There now you are in the Safe Mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

I was given a compaq computer running Windows XP. It boots up to a previous user and is looking for that user's password. How can I reset password or access administrator account?

I would suggest you to try the following :

Boot the computer in safe mode.
Press F8 while booting the system, It will give you Windows Advance boot option, Select Safe mode and press Enter. You will see two accounts, Administrator and the Previous User's . Select the Administrator. If it allows you to log in, go to control Panel, User Accounts and delete the previous user's account and create a New user with your name. Reboot the computer in normal mode.

Hope this works. Please let me know if you need further Assistance. Your comments and ratings are highly appreciated.

Thank you for choosing Fixya
