Blue power light is on, but no picture is displayed

When I plug in the T.V. the blue light on the front of the set in the lower right-hand corner lights up. I thought this indicated power was being supplied to the television. When I press the power button, however, nothing happens. There is no sound, and the screen stays completely black. This television was purchased in January of 06. Any ideas?

Strange that you should post this question to this forum! If the set was purchased in jan 2006, you have a Manufacturer's warranty! USE IT!

The light does indicat that there is power to the sety but that doesnt mean that the power supplys working . Theres nothing uyou can do unless your a trained tech. The set should still have a parts warranty. Good Luck

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

I'd sit the tv's remote and tv's screen remain blue with padlock sign at the lower left corner of the screen and the tv's remote will work only power on/ picture

Your TV is locked by anyway. If you wish to get more details, check this link. Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.
Unlock procedure to many brand TVs are given in detail.

My aim tv is also locked. Blue screen and red lock in top right corner. no response from any button

Put your set in Standby mode. Then press "Power" and "Action" button at the same time and power it off with its front panel power switch. The set should reset to Factory Defaults, and reset V-Chip.

Bleed through of color

the problem is the discoloration of the picture this happens due to magnet effect..or a magnet probably speakers set of a sound system place near your tv..2nd is the built in demagnetizer of your tv is malfunctioning...the built in demagnetizer is place at the back of the pictire tube it is wrap with an electrical tape and place around the picture is activated everytime the tv is power on...the demagnitizer is controlled by a thermistor is a device which is activated by a certain temperature, once it reach the max switch off..check whether it is soldered proerly on the pcb..use a soldering iron to fix can also buy a demagnitizer from an electronic shops to demagnitized the picture tube..simply plug in the demagnitizer to an AC outlet and with the TV powers on bring the demagnitizer in front of the tv in front ot the monitor press the switch on button and move the demagnitizer in circle and sideways until color is ok..caution do not power the demagnitizer for a long time this produces hit rapiddly.

good luck hope this helps you..

Your TV is going bad. You can get a booster to put on the back, but it can be quite spendy.

Mono setting?

What channel is it and when they tune in that channel, is the picture nice and clear or is it grainy and snowy before the screen goes blue? On some sets, if the signal is weak, the picture will go blue. This is called Blue Screen and is there so you do not see very poor, grainy and snowy pictures. Some sets will have an option in the menu to turn the blue screen off.
