Check the power suply output voltage and freqwency. Then get the same info from a US power supply. If it matches shouldn't be an issue. Yet I think the best is just to get a transformer from a european store from 220 to 110. It may be cheaper that a power supply. If still interested in a US power supply I have one available. I buy My playstation 3 in u.s the power supply is 110v 1.5A. In my country the voltage is 220. Can i use 220v 150watts transformer

The playstation 3 is dual voltage, meaning that as long as you have the right cable (plug for the wall socket) it will run 100 - 240v.
I believe the only exception to the universal power supply is the PAL 60GB PS3 (CECHC01) model. That power supply APS-227 is not compatible with voltages under 220V.

Power supply of 220v, will it damage PS3 bought from US?

If you put 220v to it yes this will damage it. The power needs to be seperated and use only one leg of the power to drop it down to 110v

When playing game, hear a pop ,screen then went blank found out fuse in plug blown replaced and fuse blew again . is there an internal fuse inside PS3

It needs a new power supply

Find out which version you have . For example " CECHxxxxx" or whatever
Then hit Ebay and find a replacement

There's one torx bit (#8 I think) screw under the cap on the top end

Then all the other screws are philips

Japanese ps3 power supply

US and Japanese power supplies are the same. The 60GB PS3's run hotter than any other models. I've never seen a power supply get hot, but if it is then it's probably a good idea to swap it since heat is the number one 60GB killer.

I just created a blog that has a ton of usefull PS3 info and tips. Please check it out here:

Is it difficult to replace the power supply in a PS3?

I Definitely Suggest you just buy a new power supply,,,, If your power supply fails, you can have multiple issues with your ps3... Being as expensive as they are... i would just say your best bet is to buy a new power supply... As for where to buy... Definately ebay... way cheaper!... make sure you check people's ratings before buying.... If you dont have access to ebay, then i suggest hitting up a electronics store that sells ps3's... if anything it can be ordered in... :D Good luck... Please rate! :)

Ps3 power supply

Sony will not sell any parts for the PS3 because they want you to send it in for repairs and charge you for it.
I never heard of "tired power supply".
It's either working or not.
I sell parts sometimes on ebay.
Contact me at I can let you know when i have one available if interested.

Ps3 power

Try and find a better/different adapter, maybe one the is specific for the PS3 or gaming in general. Don't use one of those universal ones, could fry your PS3.

Not sure what kind of outlet/plugs you guys have out there (I'm in Canada, eh) but I've provided a couple of links that should help you out. Personally, NYKO is a great choice, quality stuff and they have lots of accessories for the PS3.

Due to the volt difference; Europe (220v) vs. Canada & US (110v)
you MIGHT also need a power converter. Check the console, it will probably be able to handle 110v-220v but double check to be sure. I have heard all kinds of answers and opinions about it but best to check your PS3 yourself. If it odesn't support both voltages then you will also need to get a power converter.
