Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Kodak 5300 - New Printer Installed

I just installed a new 5300 yesterday. During installation I was asked to delete programs, etc. because there was not enough space. I did what I was told and DEAR KNOWS what I deleted. After installation, the Printers section does not recognize the 5300 as my default printer. How do I correct that?
Also, this printer has slowed down my computer system until I am completely frustrated. I have deleted documents and all my emails, incoming, outgoing and deleted. What more can I do??????

I am just about ready to return this printer and go back to HP! Please advise me as soon as possible because it is very, very, frustrating!

Im sorry for the frustration, there are still points we have to make clear like:
>do you see a 5300 icon on your printers and faxes? because if this is so, to set it as default all you need to do is right click it and left click on set as default
>if you do not see one, you can try to add an icon and set it as default
>if you cant add one, then there might be a problem with the printer driver

When you install new printhead in the printer, you will get a message" New printhead detected ,load papers in paper tray and press start. If u do not get this message,that means you have not installed printhead properly. Visit www.kodak.com/go/printheadsupport and click on 3 rd link installing or replacing a printhead to see how to install printhead correctly

Kodak Easyshare 5300 printer drivers doesn't have Home Center


Re-download from here:

http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=9106&product=EKN033540&operatingSystem=mac_os_x_10_5_x

Make sure you download the "KODAK All-in-One Printer Software (including drivers) for all 5000-Series and ESP-Series Printers" and not the "firmware".

Select to install all drivers (should be the default). Reattach the Kodak.

New printhead installed, still no ink for 5300 flowing


Try pressing copy and cancel at ocnce. Or, call 1.800.421.6699 for kodak.

Printer problems


hi, you mentioned that your default printer is the xps document printer. if you already have a 5300 printer icon, you can simply right-click on it and left-click on set as default printer to make it your default. but if you still dont have an icon yet, better still, call kodak tech support at 800.421.6699 so they could assist you in generating one

Kodak 5300 ink


First try to install a new cartridge as much as it is a waste of money. Sometimes it helps. If the error on the printer clears, download the newest firmware from www.kodak.com/go/5300downloads.

If that doesn't work, you will need to call Kodak AiO Tech Support at 1800 421 6699 to get a new printhead.

Ink Installation Problem


Ok trust this solution. Go to www.kodak.com/go/5300downloads and try to install the latest firmware. If the firmware does not work, call kodak AiO Tech Support and go through the troubleshooting steps with them. The solution is usually another cartridge or a new printhead. Either way though, the firmware will update the printer so this won't happen after this first fix.

Newly installed and getting error on printhead and ink cartridges


If that error happens every single time you turn on the printer, that pirnthead is faulty.
But if the error only happens some times, try a firmware update from www.kodak.com/go/downloads
