Question about Canon PIXMA MP780 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Canon Pixma780 My printer seems to have developed a cyan problem. I have run cleaning and deep cleaning several times. I have cleaned print head 3 times. This worked before, but not this time.. A local geek told me the carriage is the problem. If so, is it cleanable, or if not, how and where do I get a new one. By the way, test pattern shows cyan print is solid on top, lighter on bottom with a thin solid line at the very bottom. HELP! Thanks

has the fault got worse over time or just happen at once?

are you using Canon Cartridges or are they non Canon cartridges?

This also could be down to the purge unit but also could be a couple of nozzels blocked in the printhead. Maybe think of buy a new printhead?

Hi starge. I once had that kind of problem...Busted my head trying to fix it.....
It turn out that I bought a Bad cartridge. Brought it back to store for a new one (SHOULD be Original
manufacture ) and its fine now.

My canon c3480 not printing cyan, how can i fix it this problem

First confirm that the cyan ink cart actually has ink in it.

If you do have ink, run a "head cleaning" In the printer driver, there should be a "Maintenance" tab, and in that should be a "Cleaning" button. You may also have a "Deep Cleaning" capability. Try regular cleaning first, and see if that clears the probem.

HP Officejet 6310 will not print cyan

The Cyan print head nozzle maybe blocked.
If deep cleaning does not fix it then you need a new print head.
The cost of a new print head is expensive and it maybe better to get a new printer.

Canon PIXMA iP3000. I have completed a nozzle check, but have odd results... BLACK-Perfect CYAN-4 EQUALLY SPACED WHITE LINES...NO DROP OUTS PALE CYAN-PERFECT MAGENTA- 4 EQUALLY SPACED WHITE LINES...NO DROP...

Inkjet printers do not like being left unused for long periods.
Some of the color print head may be blocked. Try several deep cleaning of the print head to see if it can clear the blocked print nozzles.
If none of this works then the print head needs to be replaced.
A new cartridge will not solve this problem.
NOTE the print head is not a cheap item, you may consider putting the money towards a new and better printer.

Pixma ip4200 willl not print Cyan

I think the problm lies between the ink tank and the printhead. When this passage runs dry, sometimes it takes time for the ink to fill this passage again. Try printing again after a day or two.

IP4300 only recognizes magenta OR cyan

1. Get compressed air
2. Run Printhead under HOT water, do not worry about contacts getting slightly wet.

3. Blow compressed air with straw attachment into screens where the cartridge nozzle sits on printhead. then let it sit and dry.

4. reinstall print test page

5. if this fails open paint/photoshop and print a page of the color that is not printing correctly. rinse and repeat until colors flow freely.

I have several ip4300s and I have yet to give up the ghost on a printer with a clog ujsing this method.

Cyan Not working

Use the printers maintanance software to clean the cartridges ( start--settings--printer & faxes, right click your printer icon, choose properties, go to maintanance, click clean in cartidges. Max cleaning attemps is 3 times.
If that does not work, you need to clean the head manually.
Note that this procedure may destroy totaly the head.
Take a small tray and put some water inside (fill the tray to 3mm deep) Add few drops of white spiris in (2-3% max). Put the head inside (the solution must just cover the print nozzles on the head. Leave it there for few hours, then take it out, allow to dry, put it back in the printer, put the inks in, make one cleaning and try again.
If does not work.......you need a new head.

Lift lid ,let carriage stop in middle, un-plug the printer > Remove all ink tanks > Remove print head > Soak print head in > 3 parts very warm water an 1 part ammonia over night. Rinse under faucet with water directly over ink ports, shake out excess water,(if when you shake it out and if color still comes out repeat soaking for another hour or two and rinsing again ,HAD TO DO MINE TWICE) let air dry. (hair drier helps) Cured my problem for a while ,but if not used almost every day, this will happen again, I also use compatible ink tanks. Don'T believe the inks are as good as Canon Ink. But who the hell can afford them. So fill your owe with Canon ink from Canon. Still seems that the cyan always dries up first. Good luck Lestero1
