If  your Notebook is having Intel Processor, you cannot get it repaired for free since Intel Notebooks donot have any identified Hardware issues...
You need to contact any nearest HP Authorized Service Provider and get the Notebook examined.

SCREEN IS NOT SHOWING ANYTHING

This is a common problem with the dv6000 and dv9000 series laptops. Check here to see if it is covered under the extended warranty. If it is not covered, then it will need a new motherboard, which can be pricey.

My hp pavilion dv9000 17 power on but see black screen

If your 9000 is under two years old, you should contact HP customer care and have unit serviced under warranty.
HP has had allot of problems with the 6000 and 9000 units and in response has offered an additional year from date of purchase.
Its worth a shut. Doesn't cost a dime.
Hope this information has helped you.

Blank Screen HP 6119 - can't start it anymore

Hi:
I would not give up on contacting HP, because several models, including dv2000, dv6000 and dv9000 had defective motherboards, and the warranty was extended. Some people got free repair, and some just got discounted repair, but don't give up!

Humming noise on HP Pavilion dv9000

I have a dv6000 and its makes a insect tlike noise. i returned it and  got another one but that one also made the same noise. so i contacted hp and they told me that the sound is coming from the USB ports, i thought wierd but here is the solution to your problem. go to computer managment (start>right click my computer> manage), click on device manager, select the universal serial bus contollers ( there should be a few roots files that open up), right click a usb root hub and select properties, click the power managment tab, and uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". do this for every USB root hub that you have, and the problem should go away. FYI these instructions are for windows XP.
