Please read the solution that resolved this problem for someone else. Most likely, you have already tried this. However, the antenna of your Nuvi 660 is the same as the 3xx Nuvi series. I know this because I have worked on them.

If the above procedure does not work for you, the entire antenna assembly will need to be replaced.
The other option is to purchase an external antenna for your Nuvi and plug it into the external antenna port (gold connector) on the Nuvi antenna assembly.

Best wishes,
- Jim

My Nuvi 660 can not locate the satelites, please advise. Thanks.

There is a common problem in the antenna circuit that will cause the antenna to fail. To confirm this take a very small section of wire and carefully insert it into the center conductor of the external antenna jack, which is located on the side of the flip up antenna. By doing so you are essentially using the wire as an external antenna and the unit should get satellite lock. Do not continue to use the wire as antenna however. Garmin will charge a flat rate of $110 to repair it or you can send it to a reputable post warranty repair company like www.sharcnet-usa.com

Hope this helps you, safe travels.

Garmin Nuvi takes a long time to Acquire satellite

No. 98% of the time it took 45-56 seonds for your NUVI 660. Thats the compagny set up time acquisition and it did very well.

Be sur you had your flip antenna parallel to earth surface.
660 has THE BEST SIRF Chipset for acquiring satellite.

I had 2 NUVI 660 since 2 years. It work much better than those new 7xx series who it really took 2-3 minutes to acquire satellite.

Be sure you update your version to the last one.

Nuvi 660 not locating satellites

Try this and see if it fixes your problem...first disable bluetooth then follow these steps.
1. Power off the unit.
2. HOLD down the power button and you will see "Pre Boot Mode" appear on the lower part of the display. KEEP HOLDING the power button down and the display will flicker, do this until the pre boot mode message disappears. This seems to take a long time (60 seconds at least).
3. Once the pre boot mode message disappears release the power button and your device will perform some activites to recover from the problem.
