    • hello there and welcome to fixyaCould you tell me  how many beeps it is producing  this  helps out a lot in troubleshooting this type of error ,also if you turn off the machine  then unplug it  and   remove your graphics card then  press in and hold  the power button  in for 15 seconds  this helps release the esd then replace the graphics card and power up the machine  then see what happens okplease  send me a comment on how this is going along with the series of beeps Best regards Mike

Yes, Michael Thomas is right. This is a POST (power-on self-test) that takes place at the beginning when you boot your computer. I think this is because the BIOS chip that came with the replaced motherboard. Take care how many beeps are and if them are short or long. Who is the BIOS manufacturer? Find the error code then go here: http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm and determine the problem. Or search google for "post beep codes" .

Some older computers, like mine, have a maximum memory they can handle. This one happens to be 1 gig, but yours may be less. Do you have an older computer? Yup, you do. As seen here, the maximum supported ram is 256. I'm sorry. Please rate.

    • Ok sweet. What kind of ram are you using?

    • Well when I had that problem, it turned out to be the buss speed. Yours is... well according to your comp specs is 100, but if she handles 2 gigs of ram, then you must have upgraded. Is there any more info on the original ram? ddr266is the bus speed, but this is the new ram. You might have different bus speed. See if you can find it.
