The TV (CT-26wx15N) was working fiine. Turned it off to take the kids for a walk when we got back nothing. The power will not come on - it is plugged into a surge protector and everything else is working fine, even tried changing outlets and plugs - it just quit. The TV is not even 2 1/2 years old.

I have a sony KV35v35. I watered a plant that was on top. The next day I found water on the floor...OPPs! Some probably went into the unit. A week later I tried to turn it on...no go. I unplugged it for an hour, no go. Is there a fuse inside that I may want to look at or is there a common problem/fix for water. Maybe only a 1/2 cup went in but it has dried for 3 weeks and no go. Any ideas. T hanks. Rob

I have a 31 inch Toshiba less than two years old. After watching a movie the night before, I tried to turn it on and nothing happened. There is a light in front. It is getting power. But, there is no sound of the set turning on or a picture. There was no storm the night before.

Telling someone to get professional help would be the obvious response from a TV repairman who wants to charge someone at least half the cost of TV replacement to fix it. People get on here so the can try and avoid the high cost of tv repair. How about giving advice on how to fix it which is why the got on here to begin with.

Dear Cuba, I have said to everyone, repairing a TV is not a job for a handyman with Home or Garage tools. Problem could be a simple one like like a defective mains cord (very rare) to a blown Switching transisator in the SMPS or even a defective Horizontal Output Transistor or FBT... I can think of more possibilities.... Best Advice - Get Professional help.

You either have a cold solder joint in your horizontal deflection circuits or your or in your horizontal output circuit. please be careful due to the fly-back transformer still holds power even unplugged until you discharge it.( ground it out). Hope this helps.

On some models the reset is unplugging for a minute or two and plugging back up. Otherwise you have a blown fuse where the power goes in. If you decide to replace the fuse do no go over 5 amps. If the replacement fuse blows there is a short in the set and needs a repairman.
