Clarion vx400 clock wont maintain time

There are three main wires that control the power of any deck. They are as follows:
  • Bat+(12v) -RED- This is the main power wire. There is no mistaking this wire
  • Ground -Black- ground wire that is usually connected to the frame.
  • Constant -Yellow - This is the wire that provides a constant low voltage to the deck when the ignition is turned off. This is the wire that maintains certain functions such as last position on CD and also for the clock to maintain the correct time.
The constant wire is the one you are looking for. The best way to find the constant wire is to take a test light and probe till you find it, when you are doing this make sure that the ignition is off. In this state only the constant wire will set off the test light. Good Luck and let me know if you need any more help

The antenna generally will not retract until the power is turned off at the deck or if you turn the key off (which turns the deck off).Your deck may have a selectable dimmer function in the settings menu you should be able to set it to automatic and it will handle the dimming on its own then.

I can not remember how to reset the clock on my Kenwood KDC-MP332 MDS Fet 50x4

To set your clock on your Kenwood deck you must 1st have the deck in "stand-by" which you get to pressing the source button till just the clock displays, no music. Press and HOLD the "f" or function until you see menu, from there toggle thru the choices until you see clock adj. and use the ff/rw to set the hours and minutes and when finished hit the "f" button and your done. Now if you don't have a "f" button press the display button. Again Kenwoods hide the set-up menus really well. good luck. mark
