Ct87n thermstat is hooked up and the heater is on because i smell the heat but it is not blowing out the vent


The blower motor isn't running. At the thermostat, red wire to the R terminal white wire to W terminal.or W2 If the blower still doesn't run It's probably not the thermostat.

Honeywell ct87n wiring schematic


These are color codes wires for terminals that control fan relay,start,stop, temp-up/down ect. Also you can trace out those wires, Where they are going and what terminal on the wiring schematic they control.

I recently installed the Honeywell ct87n thermostat.....the AC worked fine all summer, but has been off now for 6 weeks. When I turned in on to heat / automatic...nothing happens...neither the AC or Heat...


Check for a fuse in your AC/Heating system either on the control board or in-line on a wire. Make sure the wires are correct to the thermostat.

Just installed a honeywell thermostat (CT87N) fan runs but compresssor does not


Make sure you have the green thermostat wire hooked to the G terminal. You can also place a jumper between R and G to see if the fan will come on once the green wire is connected.

On the sub base jumper R to RC this will allow it to work in heat.Just Run a wire from r over to rc termminal and try it. If it does not work get back to me and I will help, Rus

G to the manufactures webpage and type in model # and look upspecs . r- red y-cool w-white g-fan .. The red should be connected to rh--rc already by a jumper wire.
