If your system has a 1(one) 1gb memory installed you can add another one with the same type. your system can only handle 2gb of memory.

the maximum amount of RAM for that pc is 1GB so upgrading isn't possible if you wanted to upgrade the speed of the RAM the maximum speed is 333 MHz which is not very fast so i would assume that's what the current RAMs speed is.

I have an hp a6220a computer and am finding the memory rather small for DVD recording. The present memory is 160Gb and am looking to increase it as well as possible the RAM which is at present 1Gb. What...

Hi,     The most memory that your system can hold is 2 GB. It has 2 slots on your motherboard so you really just need to buy one Chip of 1 GB of Ram. This Ram is fairly cheap, you can get it on the Internet for about between $20 to  $30 Dollars. ( Here is link for that price) For your Hard Drive, prices are set for the amount of Storage that you need.  You could get a 500 GB for under $70.00       Just be sure that you get a ( Sata 3G ) hard drive and not an ( eide ) or a scsi.

OLD Computer

I'd be very careful about putting Vista on an old laptop - Vista uses masses and masses of resources and your processor might not be capable of coping even with a memory upgrade. The following site will answer all of your questions and can also check if your computer can cope with Vista.
