Whirlpool Calypso Washer: No water fill intermittent

I have a GVM9959KQ2 Whirlpool washer that doesn't fill with water intermittently on most settings. Hoses, inlet screens verified open and correctly attached and water sounds like it is entering tub. Seems like incoming water may be limited due to tub spray nozzles with water appearing to run down side walls of tub and not spray on clothes. Repair Manual says water is run through detergent dispenser and then sprays in tub (just not on clothes). Volume of water is too small to get clothes wet during nutation. Any thoughts as to what causes this problem and how to diagnose/repair?

Check the hose from the tub to the pressure switch, make sure its clear and the reservoir on the tub is clean.

My Calypso washer at the start I hear water filling tub. Then it stops filling and hear a moderate humming noise. I replaced water pump but still doing the same. Please help. Thanks

The problem is not the pump. IT appears that the water control valve is bad or the voltage that controls it is changing and then the valve stops working.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

This is symptomatic of an intermittent (cold) water control valve- sometimes only partially opens.
It needs replacing! Service call ;-0(
Good luck,

My Calypso washing machine doesn't allow you to select start. It is an intermittent problem which seems to clear itself after a couple of hours. How do I fix it?

Washer calypso

Unplug your machine for 5 min then turn on spin to remove water. If water won't go you have a bad water pump. Code FL refers to a low water flow problem ( won't fill fast enough ) or old water still in tub.
Next you need to turn off the water ot the unit and remove the water lines. Look into the water inlets on the washer to see if the dirt screens are clogged and not letting water into you unit at a fast enough pace.
Your unit has a water level sensor and should agitate when full, but I believe your machine might be "timing out" i.e. not filling as fast as your unit expects so even though it doesn't fill all the way it begins agitating because it has taken too long to fill. Good Luck!

Calypso - water goes straight to drain hose-not drum

the hose may still be filled from last cycle. try to put machine in final spin mode where all water from previous wash will be spun out the drain hose. once a siphon is started it can only be stopped by introducing air into the drain hose.
