Format I was trying to see how much memory was left on my memory card and I think that I accidentally re-fromated the camera. All 350 of my pictures are gone. Is there any way to undo this and get my pics back?????

Says my memory card cannot be read

I only can ask some questions, to check everything is correct with your memory card and camera.
Is it a brand new card? no pictures on it, so in the setup menu first do a format.
Is this not a new card, but the first time in the camera?
Perhaps you first should save all the pictures (and files if the are on the card) to a computer and do a format.
Did the card work in the camera before and after you copied the photos to the computer it gave this error.
Could it be you did touch the lock switch on the memory card? Is it still in the up position, like the 64 GB card on the left. (picture below)
Did the card work in the camera before and suddenly it stopped working? now we have a problem.
If you think you still should have pictures on the card, you should remove the card and try to recover the pictures with recover software. The error can happen, when you remove the battery, while the camera is accessing the memory card. (blinking green light on the back of the camera).
If you are sure there are no pictures on the card, you can try to format the card. If the camera does not allow you to do so, remove the card and try to format the card with a computer. If the computer not sees the whole memory, and only wants to format a part, it could be there is a hidden partition and Windows 7 or 8 can't free the whole card. Then try an older computer, or another camera. 53185441-1fc7-465e-b475-400f4546e9c6.jpg

How to unlock a photo in camara

The protect function allows a user to protect a picture from accidental deletion. To unprotect a picture on your camera, scroll to the protected picture that you want to delete, then press the Menu button (the button to the right of the Play button.) Scroll down the menu and you should come to an option that allows you to Protect/Unprotect the picture. Since your picture is currently protected, deselect that option. You should then be able to delete the picture normally.

Alternatively, you could also format the memory card, however this deletes ALL photos and data you have on the memory card. If you are trying to completely clear the memory, this is the best way. After turning on your camera, simply press the Menu button, scroll to Setup, then scroll down to Format. Select Format, it will ask you if you want to format the memory card, or the camera's built-in memory. Format whichever one you want to clear, if you are using a memory card then your pictures are stored on the memory card. It will take a few seconds to format.

Hope this helps.

"memory full" but SD cards are empty

Not sure if it will be this, but has the SD card got locked by accident? There is a little sliding button on the side of the card, which can be locked to protect the content. My camera shows the card as full if I accidentally lock the card. You can just slide it back again to unlock it. I never noticed the button was there until I accidentally knocked it while loading the card in and out of my PC to transfer the photos.

Camera says out of memory won't let me take pictures. i cleared all the pictures out and still cant take pictures. What do you think the problem is?

I'm assuming you are trying to use an SD card in your camera and not the internal memory. I suggest you format the memory card if you are sure there is nothing on the card. Formatting the memory card deletes everything on the card and sets it up with a file system that your camera recognizes. Follow these steps to format your memory card using your camera. 1. Turn camera off 2. Insert memory card 3. Turn camera on 4. When the memory card is inserted in the camera, the [Format card] option appears in the setup menu 5. Choose Format to format the entire card. Don't choose Quick Format 6. Wait until your card is formatted
After formatting your memory card, try turning your camera off and on and you should now be able to take pictures to your memory card.
P.S. If you remove your memory card you can choose Format Memory from the setup menu to format the camera's built-in internal memory

I just bought a new memory card (8gb) for my digital camera (Samsung NV10) and when I inserted the memory card, I kept getting "Card Error". It said I should format the new memory card and I tried to...

The largest SD card you can use in your Samsung NV10 is 2GB. thats why once you insert the 8GB sd card its shows card error or need to fromat.

FYI. for every digital camera there's a compatible memory card and you can see from the box or manual and Its writen SD or SDHC.

goodlukc and thank you

Jessops Memory Card Erased

Format the card in the camera to restore the folders and prepare it for use in the camera.

I sure hope you're not actually doing this on a Pentax film camera...

How to delete pictures from a d-460

Judging by your explanation, the photos are on your sd digital memory card rather than the internal memory.
Since you are unable to delete just those 15, it sounds like you might have accidentally enabled the "protect" function.

Get out your manual (or download a new one) and read about how to protect/unprotect photos, and also read about how to format your card in camera - something you should do on a VERY regular basis for the health of your memory card.

While you have the book out, read ALL of it - twice! You'll be amazed how much you'll learn.

Hello,

If this a new memory card, you can try to FORMAT it. Formatting will erase any contents on the card.

Use the right arrow and select the "options" menu. Press the up arrow to select "set-up", press "menu/ok". Select "format" on the menu using the down arrow. Highlight OK on the screen click "menu/ok".
