Linksys WUSB54GSC Wireless

Wireless adapter will connect to router for a while, then connection quits. Sometimes in 10 min. , sometimes in 4 hours. No matter what I do, I can not get connection back. Lights on router stay lit (linksys router wrt54GS), but no lights on USB adapter. Drivers are installed, Hardware profile says all USB ports on computer are working properly. I returned adapter and replaced with new one, but same problem keeps happening. All new equip. Linksys tech support (Hapu in India) not much help - they have me check MAC address and channels, but everthing is always correct. If I turn system off for a while, upon restart wireless will hook back up - untill it quits again. Any ideas ? I have not replaced router yet - I can hook up the ehternet cable instead of wireless and everything is OK.

I have exactly the same problem. Damn irritating. Connection from my laptop is fine so figured something must be wrong with the adapter. Have used it for some time, it was fine all along till recently. So you think it's the same problem? Have not managed to try the proposed solution - having trouble getting a connection!

I have the exact same problem with ver 2 of the wusb54gsc. I can reconnect fairly quick <1 minute by unplugging adapter, wait app 10 ~ 15 seconds and then about 15 more seconds to connect to the internet. Can't find anything on this ver 2. Bought at Wal Mart, and linksys support doesn't have anything on the ver 2. Am using Vista 64 on Dell Studio XPS 435 MT.

Same problem as above except now it will not even find my encrypted network. Encryption has not changed.
Problem started with just not staying connected to my network...kept jumping to neighbor's weaker network. Progressed to where it would see my network but not connect, now it will not even see my network. 2 other computers regularly using wireless and no problems...one is belkin adapter and other is unknown (came with the laptop).

Have the same problem, zoom router + Linkysys adaptor, connects fine first time then 1 minute or hours later will lose the internet and the adaptor light will stop flashing but im still connected to the router. I have another computer on the network so i know the router is fine. I tried the services suggestion but wireless zero config is'nt started to stop. Ive noticed that i get a number after my conection to such as "Wireless network connection 8 (zoom)" Any ideas???

Right ive fixed this but im not sure how cause i have done about twenty things....the adaptor is in a different port, as in it was plugged in at the front of the PC but now is in the rear, i have turned off my firewall, i also went in to the registry and removed the old connections that had been created, these can be found here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services. Thats all i can think of for now that is relevant, one other thing if like me you found yourself unpluging and pluging in the adaptor every 2 minutes into differnet ports this only works if you restart the computer each time, just thought id point this out. Hope this helps some of you but mine has been on now for 3 days now without dropping off once so i must have done something right just as i was about to buy a new adaptor.
P.S. If you solve your issue using any of these methods or a new one please let everyone know, Thanks
Grant

On your PC goto Start/Control panel/Administrative tools/services
When you have a good connection stop the "Wireless Zero Configuration"
This should stop your issue.
