Question about Linksys WUSB54GSC Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter w/ SpeedBooster [WUSB54GSC] (LS-SB54GSC)
Wireless adapter will connect to router for a while, then connection quits. Sometimes in 10 min. , sometimes in 4 hours. No matter what I do, I can not get connection back. Lights on router stay lit (linksys router wrt54GS), but no lights on USB adapter. Drivers are installed, Hardware profile says all USB ports on computer are working properly. I returned adapter and replaced with new one, but same problem keeps happening. All new equip. Linksys tech support (Hapu in India) not much help - they have me check MAC address and channels, but everthing is always correct. If I turn system off for a while, upon restart wireless will hook back up - untill it quits again. Any ideas ? I have not replaced router yet - I can hook up the ehternet cable instead of wireless and everything is OK.
Right ive fixed this but im not sure how cause i have done about twenty things....the adaptor is in a different port, as in it was plugged in at the front of the PC but now is in the rear, i have turned off my firewall, i also went in to the registry and removed the old connections that had been created, these can be found here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services. Thats all i can think of for now that is relevant, one other thing if like me you found yourself unpluging and pluging in the adaptor every 2 minutes into differnet ports this only works if you restart the computer each time, just thought id point this out. Hope this helps some of you but mine has been on now for 3 days now without dropping off once so i must have done something right just as i was about to buy a new adaptor.
P.S. If you solve your issue using any of these methods or a new one please let everyone know, Thanks

On your PC goto Start/Control panel/Administrative tools/services
When you have a good connection stop the "Wireless Zero Configuration"
This should stop your issue.
