Ethernet controller

Most times, with a modern computer, it will automatically install or re-install the drivers for your Ethernet as soon as you turn it on. Assuming this is not working for you, and if you happen to be on Windows 7, you get into your Control Panel, System, Device Manager, Network Adaptors.. find your Ethernet controller there, double click on it, and you will have several options in dealing with the driver. Keep after it. You'll figure it out..

This is often the case when an adaptor is told to use the wrong security protocols for a network.

You need to ensure that you set the security to match your existing router settings eg.
WEP, WPA etc
Then you also need to match the authentication used eg TKIP AES etc.

In addition some routers can be set up to pre-allow devices by IP and subnet (192.168.x.x and 255.255.255.x respectivly)

All these thing need to be in place before you cann access the network.

If you are tech savvy inthis area then you will know what i mean and be able to take it from there.
If however you are not network savvy you may want to call a friend who is and can finnish the setup for you.

If you used the installation CD that came with the adaptor it should have stepped you through most of this to the point of being able to make a connection

If not put in the CD and start it up as it should get you going.

The setup is also available as a free download from the "support" section on the belkin web site.
Just select your adaptor and operating system.
Take note of the adaptor version as that is important !

My wireless adaptor seems to have disappeared from my PC. I can't see available networks and can't see the adaptor under hardware.

Download and install this driver-->click here to download
to open zip files use Winrar .

Save it to your desktop --->Double-click the ".EXE" file. Select "Run." Wait for the wireless adaptor driver to install-->plug in the adapter -->restart your computer.
Plug the wireless adapter in another usb port than the previous time.

Got this fix off of newegg, and it works for XP

Install the updated software package from Netgear. Go into C:/ Program Files/Netgear/ and copy the Driver folder. Paste to your desktop or wherever.

Uninstall the Netgear software. Plug the wireless adapter back in, let Windows locate, and point it to the XP folder in the drivers folder. You're up and running. ^.^

My wireless adaptor does not work properly

These wireless dongles can take time to conect after pc starts some times they take up to 3 minutes to configure. What you could try doing is changing the brodcast type on the main modem and reconfiguring the dongle on the other pc to conect might work out faster for conection and better.

I have seen this product before several times. People can't get it to install on laptops (don't know if you have a laptop) but if this is true in your case...you will need to take it back and get a different product. It won't install.
