We are planning an extended leave from our home. My question is this; can I safely unplug this appliance while we are away (cleaning it out of course). I've heard on older products that you should leave them running. In this case we may be away as long as five months. I plan to unplug all our other appliances during this absence. Will my refrigerator/freezer be ok when we plug it back in. We bought this refrigerator brand new and it is only about 19 months old.

for using FixYa. Error ff is freezer fan fault. This usually happens when
either the rear board has gone bad or the freezer fan itself is bad and needs
to be replaced. To check what is causing the error you can start with checking
the fan which is located behind the back wall inside the freezer. Also check
the rear board as it might not be putting the fridge into defrost long enough
and is causing the ice to build up in the freezer and thus stopping the freezer
fan from turning and so causing ff error. Leave the fridge unplugged for 24hrs
which will melt all the ice then plug it back if still the issue is not
resolved and you hear the fan running then it is the rear board that needs to
be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else
revert for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
Your refrigerator has a defrost drain blockage behind the evaporator in your your freezer compartment. Some models like yours have leak in the turns as the water leaves the freezer. I recommend that you unplug and remove the cover to the evaporator and check the defrost condensate tray below the evaporator. A wet vacuum cleaner and poring a solution with clorox in the drain will help you clean locate the leak and where the blockage may be downline.. I do have the manual on yours and can help you solve this. Some times this is a factory defect and I can help you solve the freezing drain problem. Let me know, Sea Breeze
I recommending unplugging the fridge, taking off the back panel, and at looking in there. I was having the same symptoms, overheating panel between the doors on our side by side. Ends up that a mouse was stuck in the fan and stalled it out. Fortunately (at least so far), once I removed the mouse and plugged back in, the fan started back up.
You said, you have the Kenmore Elite Trio Bottom Freezer. You moved your refrigerator
to a new home and removed the bottom freezer door, but can not seem to
figure out exactly how to put it back on correctly.
It's too much for me to tell you myself. This is easier! Page 9 shows you how to remove and reinstall doors.
