Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Kenmore series 80 washing machine mod.# 11026842692

The machine always does a second rinse even though I set the selector knob for one rinse. This happens in all cycles. Also, sometimes the timer seems to get stuck in between the rinse fill & rinse cycle, and it make a noise like it wants to advance but can't. Any help would be appreciated. Also, a brief description of the proper method to remove the rear cover panel woul be great.

Thanks
NJA

Could be a broken 2nd rinse switch. contacts would not open up.

the noise could be coming from the gears inside the timer slipping.

if it is a kenmore, usually, it has these plastic cover on each side of the control panel. pry it slowly and lift it to exposed a screw that is holding the panel.

Ge super capacity plus washer. Mod wlse3150a0ww. no matter what setting it always starts on rinse then goes to spin.It also will not drain.

If the washer is stopped mid cycle it will default to rinse and spin. It will then get stuck in a loop. It is necessary to reset the electronics. Unplug the electrical cord from the unit. Wait 30 seconds. Turn the cycle selector all the way around clockwise. Turn it again and set it on any setting accept rinse or spin. Plug the unit in. It should begin a new cycle and be working normally.

Washer leaks and tub won't empty in the beginning of the cycle

check your hoses all the connections. you'll have to pull the part with the knobs off to do this inside. If it isn't turning, but the motor runs, it might be the coupler in the bottom of the washer connecting the motor and transmission.

Kenmore 80 series washer

Your transmission is not engaging thats why the speed changes your making will sometimes get it to work.Honestly any machine after the 10 year age mark is not worth the cost of replacing the transmission.

80 SERIES NOT SPINNING

It wont be the capacitor or the motor wouldnt work on the wash cycle. It could be the lid switch, & yes you could bypass the switch to prove if it is open circuit, you may even find a burned out wire to the switch. TURN THE POWER OFF FIRST THOUGH!!
