The best guess is to buy some more ram(very cheap on ebay) and insert it into your motherboard, it is the reason why it hangs, what you could also do is downgrade to an earlier version of windows that requires less ram to operate.
Windows vista requires 2gb of ram minimum
Windows xp requires 512mb or ram
Windows 7 requires 3gb or ram
I found this solution on another forum and it worked for me. I have Adobe Photodeluxe 4 on a vista OS and got the same RAM error. I tried the "change the virtual memory" fix and that did not work. Then I found this: Right click on the Adobe Photodeluxe icon on the desktop and choose Properties, click on the Compatibility tab and choose run this progam in Windows XP service pack 2 mode. It worked for me!
this sounds like a bug of some sort to me. if windows is seeing 6gb it should have 6gb but to be sure recheck the mobo book to see if you have it installed properly then check your bios to see if all 6gb is registering for real.
