Question about Neff U1721 Double circotherm Electric Oven
I purchased a GE top stove oven JBP49BKBB SKU 579-840 in nov 2006 at Home Depot in Portland, OR.
On 10/20/2008 I turned the oven on to 350 to warm up some bread and within 5 minutes I heard a loud bomb-like explosion with big flames coming out the oven door, with a popping noise and a huge, intense, bright light (excedding that of a welding torch). This 'explosive event' lasted under a minute, as we managed to turn off the circuit. I got very nervous and scared, as I had my 3 year old granddaughter in the kitchen with me, as well as my husband and daughter, who were nearby and witnessed this event. I am afraid to use the oven ! Thanks, Ana Rosa Edgar
What can I do ?
Most likely an element burning out though it does sound a little more excessive than is the usual case. Was the fan oven on, in which case remoce the inner ear panel in the oven and check to see if the element surrounding the fan has burnt out
