Re: Linksys wireless connection to xbox 360
Goto your computer and click on start, the goto run, then type in ipconfig at the command prompt.
Write down the GATEWAY ip address as this is the Linksys router ip.
Now open up Internet explorer and type in the GATEWAY ip that you just wrote down.
You will be prompted with a username and pw screen/box. Factory default username is admin with pw is just blank(not the word blank but just nothing entered as the pw), or admin as the pw.
If you're lucky you should be able to manually configure the router without the config cd. If not, I have had this issue before and you will have to contact linksys for a replcement CD as some routers do require install cd since manual setup just doesn't work for some reason.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

You need to buy a Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander to boost the signal
Move your wireless router to a central location in your network, keeping in mind that the router should be at waist level at the very least, not on the ground.
Plug in the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander in the room where your wireless router is. You'll move the range expander later, but for setup purposes, it should be in the same location as your wireless router.
Press the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander's "Auto Configuration" button for five seconds, which will allow the range expander to detect your wireless network and configure itself with the appropriate settings.
Unplug the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander and relocate it to a location closer to the Xbox 360.
Ensure that the antenna for the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander is pointing upward, and keep in mind that the higher the range expander is placed, the better performance you will get out of it.
Plug the Linksys Wireless-G Range Expander back in, and your wireless network should have a much greater range, ensuring that your Xbox 360 is able to maintain a good connection to the network.
in this case you need to do a port forwarding, which is something like opening the specific ports on router so that xbox will communicate with internet
for that we need to know the ip address of xbox and port numbers for xbox.contact microsoft for knowing the port numbers and their range,so we can do a port forwarding on your router
How do you connect your Linksys router to Belkin router? Do you connect your Linksys router to the Internet/WAN port of the Belkin?
If so, what is the Internet connection type set in your Belkin router? Is it dynamic?
If the Belkin router is set to dynamic IP and if it is obtaining an IP address from your Linksys router(you may check the status page of your Belkin router and look for IP address), then you may need to forward or set that IP address as the DMZ to your Linksys router. Make sure that XBOX is still configured as the DMZ host in your Belkin
In theory you should be able to "share" your internet connection. I use a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router and I have a Linksys Game adapter on my son's 360. He has not complained about lag or slow server times unless other intensive bandwidth is being used.
OK I think the easiest way to connect the xbox to the linksys, is if you configure your XBOX to have a static IP address, because the xbox will not have to pick an IP address every time you connect to the internet using the Linksys router and will not have conflicts with other PCs on your house, if you have any. What the linksys does is to convert your Public IP addres into a Private IP address, so example if your ISP gave you an IP address of: 220.127.116.11 that is your IP address for you, then the Linksys converts that number (NAT) into a private IP address so it can be share with many computer inside your house using a single Public IP address. The Linksys always transform it into 192.168.1.?=any number between 1-256 thats the defaults IP address from the manufacturer but you can change it if you want. Ok enough info about NAT or IP jeje.
Where going to use the default IP addres for an easier setup.
First: On your XBOX 360 dashboard go to SYSTEM, then Network Settings, then Edit Settings, then choose the option manual, here put the IP address= 192.168.1.33 (if 33 doesn't work use another numer like 20 or 45 just pick a number between 2 and 250) ; Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0 ; Gateway = 192.168.1.1; DNS options put Automatic. And see if it connects. If it doesn't work just post it here, any problem that you have.
