You are looking for a pedestal type base---If Hitachi contact them to see if it is available for the model you have. You can also try to GOOGLE that model number and search that way---we will presume of course it has a place and holes for such a mount.

We are buying a slim 60 in tv to put on wall The

I do not know where you live but a good choice if set is good is Craigslist---prices will vary but I would guess you could get 100 or more selling it that way.

They also have a "free" section where you can post it. Here there are a few who for free pick sets up like this for free---recycle places.

How do I take the stand off of the TV? (For wall mounting)

There will be clips or screws on the back of the TV which will need to be removed and the base stand will slide out of the bottom of the TV. Do NOT start taking screws out of the back of the TV without the wall mount with instructions. Sometimes there are spacers that need to be used with the wall mount and generally only four screws need to be removed from the TV. The TV should have instructions on how to prepare the TV for a wall mount as well. All are different, but very similar to do. If you lay the TV face down on a soft surface (do not slide it around) you probably can see what screws need to be removed to remove the TV base. Keep the screws with the stand for later use if desired because you will need them to re-install the case later. Here are two examples;

I hope this helps and good luck!

How do we mount our Panasonic Plasma tv on a tv stand?

Panasonic Plasma TVs come with a detachable base. For wall mounting it is not used, but you will need to find and attach it for use on a TV stand.

Hitachi 53uwx10BA in. Rear Projection

I love your model, out of all the sets i work on i would say to keep it as long as you can. You have a simple convergence problem and its not to bad of a repair even at the DIY level. The new sets on the market these days brake about every 10months so to keep your 8 year old tv would be a smart choice. If you can solder and use a meter we can fix your set for under $100. If you call a repairman to fix it its going to run you $300-$500 depending on your area. But even at that its less than 1/4 the price of a quality new set. Remember when you buy a new set these days you dont only have to buy the tv you have to buy a stand to put it on or a wall mount (then if you mount it on the wall either you need to know how to do it or you will need to pay someone to do it) then i never would buy a new set without an extended warranty, then you have cableing to buy (most likely your going to hook it up hdmi) and so on. To put a brand new 52" tv in your house that i would reccomend after its all said and done your going to be looking anywhere from $2500-$3500. Hope this is the info you were looking for. any more questions, or if you want to try the repair yourself just ask!!

You would need an actual wall mount bracket for your TV. Here is a link that you should be able to find what your looking for.

Hitachi 60" picture flashes on and off.

I've had the same issue although I don't unplug everything. I turn it off and then unplug it from the wall for 10 seconds then plug it back in. Seems ok after that. Has happened 4 or 5 times over the 10 years I've owned it.
