First, make sure you turn your power to the shredder off. Take off the top of the shredder and turn it over. Is there paper stuck between the shredding wheels? I had to carefully pull this paper out with a set of tweezers. Be careful, as the shredding wheels are very very sharp!
IF you've had that shredder for any longer than 4 years its about time to trash it. And some models of shredders actually can't shred anything thicker than normal notebook paper, even after about a year. Make sure you haven't
The Royal cx-6 shredder is a small consumer shredder rated for "up to 6 sheets at a time" so yes it will jam with anything more that 6.
If running it in reverse won't work you will have to try to open it up and see if you can manually turn things to get the paper back out...there is no other way if it wont run in reverse...hopefully when you have the paper removed the machine will still function.
As a test try shredding into a small box or even the cabinet itself with the bag holder and bag removed. Just to see if these are causing the problem.
The bag Full switch is activated by an arm which is pushed up by the pressure of the shredded paper in the bag as it fills.
When a sheet of paper is shredded, after the trail end of the paper goes past the "eyes" the machine should still continue to run on for a few seconds to drive the shredded paper out.
