There could be several reasons why you can't see one of the video stream windows during a video call. Check the following items to see if any of them apply to you:Webcam connection: If you have an externally connected webcam, check the connection.Tip: You can test your webcam, go to the help article, "Testing Your Webcam For Video Calling http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger10/videocall/ms10tavdcltestcam.html," for more information.Check that you have everything set up correctly for video calling by reviewing the help article, "Getting Ready to Make Your First Video Call." http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger10/videocall/ms10tavdclstart.html Now, start a new video call to see if it's working better for you.If you still have the same issue, you can send our engineers your diagnostic log files for analysis. These log files can show us if Yahoo! Messenger is functioning properly. Yahoo! 1) Try downloading a new browser and run it without add-ons or plug-ins set it to default and then try msn 2) I am more Yahoo than msn and one way to prevent this in Yahoo is to put the webcam under VFW control try visiting this page - must be with IE !! http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger9/webcam/mstacamtest.html This action makes a registry change - It increased the frames/ per/ second by 100% for me 3) Increase your virtual memory 4) You do not say if you are on dial-up, if you are I strongly recommend upgrading to broadband. Internet connection via mobile phone can be pretty fragile as well.

Pictures freezes during video call may be caused by insufficient connection bandwidth. Video data transmission from your end and the one you are calling can easily clog the connection and if you put also the audio at the same time from both parties, this will surely eat up your bandwidth. Worst if you share your connection with other users especially when you are using WiFi routers or downloading from the internet at the same time.
You may want to increase your connection speed to at least 384kbps.
If the image quality is poor while transmitting video over the Internet
using video enabled programs such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo! or AOL
Instant Messenger, your connection speed to the Internet directly
affects the image quality of the transmitted video. Corporate LAN,
DSL/cable modem connections will result in the best image quality
experience, while dial-up connections may result in choppy and overall
poor quality because of the slower connection speed. Even broadband
connections such as DSL/cable modem may experience choppy video at
times because of Internet traffic or slow upload speeds. If the image
appears clearly in the camera software, most likely your Internet
connection may be responsible for the poor image quality in your video
